20 questions Ghost Tours Of St. Augustine
1. Where do you see Ghost tours like your own going in 10 years?
Ghost tours I feel will be around for a long time. We did start in
1994 the only tour in town. Now 10 are in town after seeing how successful
we are. With the baby boomers starting to travel as well as television,
radio, and books I feel we will be going strong for a long time.
2. What would you personally consider to be the definitive proof that
ghosts are real?
A definitive proof of a ghost or spirit is the person that sees, feels,
or senses their presence. Myself. I have felt them around me. Seeing
a sprit or ghost is the hardest. The camera to me is the most definitive
tool to prove their existence. The camera will see what the eye cannot.
3. What is the most real evidence you personally have uncovered so
far?
The most real evidence I personally have uncovered is when I did
a tour last August. A young girl I would guess her age to be 6 or7.
We were at the Talamato Cemetery. I was giving the tour. This little
girl stepped out onto the street. A car drove towards her with the
headlights off. The little girl was lifted vertically for almost 8
inches in the air then she glided back on to the sidewalk. The entire
tour saw this. We did not see the car until it passed us. I think
that one of the spirits we all call James a little boy that parishes
during the yellow fever epidemic here in Saint Augustine was helping
her.

4. Are you skeptical of the claims other make of their findings?
I am not skeptical. I am interested in hearing about what they have
seen or found.
5. If you could investigate your "Dream Haunted Hot Spot"
where would it be?
I have several spots of interest that would make it as a dream haunted
spot. The one that I think would be the most interesting is the keys
of Florida. With the entire pirate as well as mixture of cultures
I think it would produce a lot of findings.
6. What was your first Paranormal encounter?
My first encounter that I remember was at the 4 corners area in New
Mexico. It was in the fall of 1999. I stopped at a Native American
reservation to get a bite to eat. It was late in the evening. I felt
a presence about me as I walked across the street. I was not afraid
of this presence it was most comforting. I was almost across the street
when I was picked up and moved to the sidewalk. I did not understand
what had happened. A car was coming down the street with all the lights
off from behind me. I did not hear it or see it. When I was placed
on the sidewalk the rushed pass me.
7. What is the best highlight a must see on your tour?
I enjoy the fort. Fort Matanzas, when we go by the fort we usually
always see or feel something.
8. If you could work side by side with one of the Paranormal Investigator
greats, who would it be?
There are so many great paranormal investigators. I would problem
like to work with Peter Moscow
9. Read any good Paranormal Books lately other then your own?
Yes I never believed in ghosts until. 100 real life encounters collected
by the editors of USA WEEKEND
10. What Question do people ask you most when you tell them your a
paranormal tour owner?
Do you believe in ghosts? Or have you ever seen one?
11. In your opinion, Where is the most Haunted city in America?
In my opinion the most haunted place in America is Saint Augustine,
Florida. I know that this sounds bias. I feel this way because we
are the oldest city in the United States. Saint Augustine was not
the friendly city that is seen to day. When Saint Augustine started
September 8, 1565. The city was plagued with one disaster after another.
Many battles were fought on these lands. Many lives were lost. The
history itself tells of such adversity. The spirits show themselves
to us constantly.
12. Do you feel more people should get involved with Ghost hunting
or Paranormal Investigation on ghost tours?
I do feel that people should get involved. By researching the paranormal,
a person might understand some of the unusual phenomena that happen
to them every day.
13. What does the future hold for your tour?
The future of the Ghost Tours of St. Augustine I feel will continue
to grow. With media and news, letting more and more people see the
paranormal influences around us.
14. Paranormal or haunted Ghost tours do you see them growing?
I do see the interest in paranormal research and investigation growing. With the baby boomers coming of age, more people are traveling. With almost $.47 of every dollar spent on the Internet is travel related. I do feel the public wants to know more about the past and the question of the future.

15. What is your most favorite local ghost story?
The Apopinax tree. This is a story about a beautiful lady that was buried twice in Saint Augustine’s Talamoto cemetery.
16. Tell us about your best moment on a ghost tour for you?
This is a tough question. I have a lot of fun on all my tours. I
have so many best moments it is difficult for me to just pick one.
One of the ones that stand out is a little different. The tour was
just about to end. I as well as all of my guides use candle lanterns.
Mine was all glass. This lantern has been used for several months.
I was telling the story by the Path House when out of now where the
lantern exploded. Destroying the lantern and startling all of my guest.
My guest thought it was a good trick. I informed them this was no
trick. These lanterns cost $30.00 each and it is not economically
sound for me to do this on my tours.
17. What is the hardest part about being a paranormal Tour guide?
The hardest thing for me dealing with the public on a paranormal
tour is having one or two people try to disrupt the tour. Usually
the people on the tour will ask them to quite down. Now and then I
have to remind them that people have paid good money to do this. That
usually settles them down.
18. What is the hardest thing about your business to deal with?
The hardest component for me is weather. We do operate our walking tour “A GHOSTLY EXPERIENCE” every night at 8:00pm 365 days a year. When the weather changes to be unsuitable for my guides and guests to go out in, I will refund their money if they so desire but hopefully I can reschedule them for another day. I do not like seeing my guest missing out on such a good time.
19. Have you ever taken a ghost Tour other then your own? And, What
about it did you not like?
I have taken several ghost tours. I liked all of them. Some were
to theatrical for my taste. I like the tours that let the guest on
the tour use their skills and imagination. I do not like it when it
is a show. All planed and scripted out.

20. What in the field of ghost hunting and Paranormal Investigating
or ghost tours needs the most attention.
I feel and please bare in mind this is only my opinion. The world
of paranormal investigation needs to teach people what to look for.
It would help if people could have a base to share their findings
and allow for open-minded observation with out bias to assist them.
