My name is Renee and I am 29 years young. I live in Old Bisbee Arizona, this is where I host my ghost tours, Old Bisbee Ghost Tour LLC. Our website is www.oldbisbeeghosttour.com, our e mail is info@oldbisbeeghosttour.com. I stared Old Bisbee Ghost Tour LLC after the realization that Old Bisbee is one of the most haunted places in the American Southwest, yet there were no formal ghost tours of the city. Being a huge fan of Ghost Tours I decided to start my own. Currently we are the only continually running ghost tour in Cochise County Arizona.

20 QUESTIONS WITH Renee Gardner
1. Where do you see Ghost tours like your own going in 10 years?
I hope that the current popularity of ghost hunting and spiking interest in the paranormal keeps growing so that in 10 years ghost tours like mine are in every major haunted city across America.
2. What would you personally consider to be the definitive proof
that ghosts are real?
I consider definitive proof of ghosts being real is personal encounters which are by different people, yet who see the same ghost or have the same occurrence. For instance, if two separate people staying in a haunted hotel see a ghost and describe it with the same characteristics, how could it not be true? Video and EVPs of ghosts.
3. What is the most real evidence you personally have uncovered so far?
I wish that I have uncovered personal evidence, but I have not. There
is nothing which I have discovered which could not be unproven to
be a ghost.
4. Are you skeptical of the claims others make of their findings?
Sometimes I am skeptical. It depends on the credibility of the witness.
Most of the time I believe the stories I hear around Bisbee since
this town is crawling with unexplainable paranormal activity.
5. If you could investigate your ‘Dream Haunted Hot Spot”
where would
My dream haunted Hot Spot would be that of the General Wayne Inn located in Lower Merion Pennsylvania. Since I was a little girl growing up in Philadelphia I heard stories of the hauntings which take place at the General Wayne Inn. That would be my dream haunted hot spot to investigate if I ever had the opportunity.
6. What was your first Paranormal encounter?
I grew up in a haunted house. My room was the room which had access to the Attic. I knew from a very small age that something was in the attic. I got a weird feeling in my bones when it was around. My family named the ghost George Hossenfefer. He would ring the front doorbell and when someone would go to answer the front door, he would then ring the back door doorbell. When someone would go to the back door, he would ring the front doorbell again. Toilets would flush by themselves, lights would go on an off by themselves. Once my mother was cooking, she was at the sink and turned around and all the pots were out of the cabinet and in the middle of the kitchen floor. She never heard them move.
In the mid 1990’s my parents added another floor to our house,
they took out the attic and added onto where it once was. Ever since
them
George Hossenfefer has not been around. My mother says that every
now and then she thinks she feels him.
7. What is the best highlight a must see on your tour?
The highlight of my tour is both the Oliver House, and the Copper
Queen Hotel. I have a EMF detector that I allow my guests to share
the use of during the tour. Whenever we get close to the Oliver House
the EMF detector reacts very strongly. The house has had over 27 deaths
occur in it, and is thought to be the most haunted spot on Arizona.
The Copper Queen Hotel is another highlight because it houses Bisbee’s
most famous ghost Julia Lowell.

8. If you could work side by side with one of the Paranormal Investigator
greats, who would it be?
I wouldn’t know where to begin. I think Harry Houdini and his ability to debunk the fakes. I feel he was a great Paranormal Investigator, though he never proved that ghosts existed.
9. Read any good Paranormal books lately?
I am reading right now A Dictionary of Ghosts by Peter Haining.
10. What question do people ask you most when you tell them you’re a paranormal tour owner?
I usually get asked if I have ever seen a ghost. The answer is no
I have not ever seen a ghost, though I have experienced ghost phenomenon.
11. In your opinion, where is the most haunted city in America?
I don’t know how you measure such a thing. Of the cities I have
been too I would say that Charleston South Carolina and Philadelphia
Pennsylvania are the most haunted in America.
12. Do you feel more people should get involved with Ghost hunting of Paranormal Investigation on ghost tours?
I feel that it is up to the patron taking the tour. Some of my patrons
just enjoy hearing the ghost stories. Other bring their own ghost
hunting equipment and try to capture ghosts on film. I feel it is
up to the individual to decide how far they want to push their paranormal
experience.
13. What does the future hold for your tour?
I see Old Bisbee Ghost Tour growing in the next few years. We have
only been running for a couple of months, and already is it one of
the most popular attractions in Bisbee. We have already been featured
in both the Phoenix and Tucson Newspapers.
14. Paranormal or haunted Ghost tours do you see them growing?
Of course. I think they will become more popular in the upcoming years.
15.What is your most favorite local ghost story?
My favorite ghost story from Bisbee is that of the Ghost Cat which
resides in room 23 (really room 13) of the Bisbee Inn. The cat passed
away in the saloon next door and the following evening people staying
in room 23 started to report a ghost cat who would sit on their bed
and purr.

16. Tell us about your best moment on a ghost tour for you?
I was taking my group past The Bisbee Grand hotel. They have a ground
floor room which is the Captain’s Suite. One of the ladies who
was staying in the Captain’s Suite was standing outside the
room. She was waiting for us to pass by. When we did she said “Is
this the Ghost Tour? Come in come in I have to show you something”
So we followed her into the room. She took us to the back bedroom
where she stated there was a strong scent of men’s cologne.
We all could smell it, then it started moving around the room. So
my guests followed the smell around the room, taking photographs of
it as they did. The photographs showed no proof of a ghost, but it
was great for my guests to have such a unique experience while on
the tour.
17. What is the hardest part about being a paranormal tour guide?
I believe the hardest part about being a paranormal tour guide would
be convincing the skeptics in the group that the ghost stories I tell
are real accounts which I personally researched. Luckily though there
are not many skeptics who take the tour!
18. What is the hardest thing about your business to deal with?
I think advertising is the hardest part of the business. It is hard
to determine where to advertise and which place would get the most
feedback. I have been lucky enough to have a write ups in the local
papers which I have gotten a huge response from.
19. Have you ever taken a ghost tour other then your own? And, what about it did you not like?
I have taken ghost tours in Charelston, Philadelphia, London and
Los Angeles. The only thing I can remember disliking was the one in
Philadelphia. The tour guide was a young kid dressed like a goth and
he showed no interest in his job or in the stories he was telling.

20. What in the field of ghost hunting and paranormal investigating or ghost tours needs the most attention?
I feel that it is extremely important to not try to prove that there is a ghost but to disprove it. If you can not under any circumstances disprove that a place is haunted, then it must be haunted. I feel it is important to remember that ghost hunting and ghost tours should not be taken too seriously and to remember that at the end of the day it should be enjoyable and all in good fun!
