20 QUESTIONS WITH David Wolfe II
1. Where do you see Haunts of Owensboro Ghost tours in 10 years?
I hope the biggest ghost tours in the south or in America. I hope
to expand my Haunted Ghost Tour empire to other towns and who knows
maybe my company will be as big as the WWE or Trump. Its all about
what God gives me.
2. What would you personally consider to be the definitive proof that
ghosts are real?
I think everyone who has a paranormal experience of some type knows
instinctively to themselves what is real. It's all in what your heart
and head wants to mutually accept. As I tell people on my tours its
not what happens to me or you on my tours, its what happens to you
personally and what you alone truly believe. Many Ghost Stories and
strange encounters with the dead happen in Owensboro, Kentucky's third
largest city 24/7. Some citizens openly talk about it while others
keep dead quiet. Spend a few minutes and look through our web site,
and you might just agree that Owensboro has a few more ghost then
one might think.
3. What is the most real evidence you or a guest on your tour have
personally have uncovered so far?
On 1-11-08, it was cold and eerie and when ghost tour had gotten to the Theater Workshop and I just got done with my telling of the ghost stories that had happen there. (let me tell yea there are many.) I brought out my EMF meters and a girl on the tour decided to talk to the ghost that was there. All of the sudden a girl that was taken the pics lets out a shriek and takes off running saying “look what I caught on my camera!” just then we had gotten a weird feeling and cold chills and yes it was cold out but this was different.
This ghost pics taken 1-11-08 by Melody Gipe. She had taken these pics with a digital camera. Gipe had taken several photos of Melissa Hanvey that night and both thought the actual ghost were following her.
Also when we had gotten to the Executive Inn we had weird readings
there to. I’ve had a lot of weird thing happen on my tours and
they just keep coming!!!
4. Are you skeptical of the claims others make of their findings?
Yes, to really be a true paranormal investigator, a believer you must be. In many ghost pics I’ve seen some things that look like dust or bugs. But there are those that I can’t explain. It's the same with all you encounter in life believing is subjective to ones own life experience. My honest soul purpose and hopes here was to explain and not critique the science that I am to a part of. I am a true believer as we all are of ghosts and the afterlife but as I am who I am, I seek proof everyday. All too often, even I question what goes bump in the night!
How can you say ghost exist unless you try to experience it yourself? If you are not willing to try, then you have no factual basis for your conclusion. To put this another way, don't decide it before you try it. All beliefs come from a experience. Many believe people for their word, others not so trusting simply need to be shown. And still more do not believe what they see even if it shoved in their face.
Every one search for answers in all we perceive. A television show
does not equal what strange occurrences go on in a real haunted house
or in the mind of the person being so unhappily haunted. But for those
that strange abnormal paranormal occurrences do not happen to then
the burden of proof falls far from them.
5. If you could investigate your "Dream Haunted Hot Spot"
where would it be?
I’m not as much of a investigator rather more of a collector
of stories and amateur historian. But I’m getting into the investigating
more and more. I think Gettysburg Battlefield. I love the civil war
history and love the many historic and new ghost battlefield ghost
stories I hear.
6. What was your first Paranormal encounter?
From my personal experience when I was 6 years old. The home I lived
in which was well over 150 years old. One night I woke up and had
saw a person or ghost what ever it was just standing there beside
my bed. It stood there four about 4 nights then went away. Plus my
bed would shake at night and my mom would even hear her name called
out and know one would be there and one night in the same room as
that I saw my ghost she had heard the ghost or sprit come up the stairs
and then she felt the sprit hover over her for a while then went away.
A lot of different thing happen there which at a young age convinced
me. My family also told stories of ghost they saw when they were young.
7. What is the best highlight a must see on your tour?
The Theatre Workshop someone usually catches something on camera or on the emf’s. But there are other spot that are equally haunted!! Many people relate to me their personal experiences quite often. from cold chills to being touched by ghost along the way. A few have told me the ghost have actually followed them home. I think Owensboro ghost are a little more friendly and just want to be noticed and that's why they make themselves known.
.
These are many haunted hot spots in Owensboro (places you can start your ghost hunting at). Don't let the age of a building or area fool you. Please remember, do not trespass. Here are a few local Ghost stories that have circulated around Owensboro for many years concerning specific locations.
Owensboro - The Old Theater Workshop - In 1809 this theater was a church. 1973, Mayor Waitman Taylor offered the Old Trinity Centre, formerly home to the Trinity Episcopal Church and acquired by the City in 1972, to TWO as a permanent home. Trinity Centre is registered as an historic landmark. Built in 1875, it is the oldest example of Gothic architecture is Western Kentucky. As well, it is the oldest brick church building in Owensboro.
A young priest lived there with his family. His daughter was dating a young man who her father disapproved of. Late one night the daughter came to her father with dreadful news. She told her father she was pregnant. He was so disappointed in her, he told her he never wanted to see her again and sent her away. So the story goes that night she was out of her mind, she ran up to the bell tower and hung herself. Her father was so sad he to killed himself in the basement. With what nobody knows. To this day lights are said to go on and off constantly, the bell rings when there isn't a bell anymore, coldness out of nowhere surrounds you, and if your not careful while standing in front of the basement you just might get pushes as many have before.
8. If you could work side by side with one of the Paranormal Investigator
greats, who would it be?
Mark Nesbitt His stories are awesome! He has so much history, stories,
and experience in the field. I hope to meet him personally
one day and compare notes.

9. Read any good Paranormal Books lately other then your own?
I’ve read Ghost and Haunts of the Civil War by Christopher
K. Coleman. It’s a awesome book with history and tons of ghost
of the Civil War.
10. What Question do people ask you most when you tell them you're
a paranormal tour owner?
See any ghost lately? Ha, ha... just kidding They always ask what's
the most haunted spot on your tour? By my guest accounts there seems
to be more then just one.
11. In your opinion, where is the most Haunted city in America?
Coshocton, Ohio, even though its not documented the town has a lot
of ghost. I was born there and have heard many, many stories. But
in all seriousness that most haunted cities in America New Orleans,
Savannah, Charleston SC.
12. Do you feel more people should get involved with Ghost hunting
or Paranormal Investigation on ghost tours?
As long as they are not rude to those along just to listen and have
a good time on the tour. That's why I offer a Ghost Hunters only tour
also. It may cost a little more but you get to bring your equipment
and hear about what others have encountered so you can have your own
investigation. And capture EVP's and ask me questions on the haunting
that I may or may not cover on the tour itself. As well as give out
info on what others have discovered or paranormal occurrences from
other tours I have given.

13. What does the future hold for your tour?
I hope to expand the tour to cover the more obscured haunted hotspots
in Owensboro and other areas in Kentucky. Also I am planning out a
book on the many haunting's of area that my tour does not really cover.
Owensboro has a lot more ghost stories then one might imagine.
14. Paranormal or haunted Ghost tours do you see them growing?
Oh YES, more and more people are into the paranormal and ghost today.
My tour seems to be becoming more and more popular as the months go
by.
15. What is your most favorite local ghost story?
Man there are so many. And each more haunted or paranormal in the
telling. I love the many new and old Theatre Workshop ghost stories.
That place is really spooky even during the day, and the ghost stories
and paranormal accounts of spirits are witnessed by a lot of people.
New stories happen all the time and allot of them occur while actually
taking the tour. But I know so many stories, that its hard to pick
a exact favorite. Lets just say, "I believe it's really haunted."
16. Tell us about your best moment on a ghost tour for you?
The night of 1-11-08 and the night when the ghost hunter private group who I work with (P.A.S.T) came on the tour , it was awesome!!! They got a lot of emf readings at the TWO and the Executive Inn was hopping with ghost that night. We even captured a ghost on the EVP saying a girls name "Amy" really creepy. and more ghost photos then one might imagine.

David Wolfe II and Melissa Hanvey test their EMF meters for ghost
as an orb floats by. Orbs are believed or thought to be balls of small
floating bubbles of light energy. Many believe they are deceased ghostly
life forms, and are believed to be the actual photographic proof of
the human soul or life force.
17. What is the hardest part about being a paranormal Tour guide?
I would have to say rude guest. When people question you out loud
during a ghost story on the tour, it seems to break the rhythm and
bother others on the tour. I don’t in any way mind questions,
please don’t get me wrong, just don’t be rude about it
and wait until the story is finished and I ask any questions need
to be answered.
18. What is the hardest thing about your business to deal with?
Not having a private secretary .... ha ha!! No I love my Biz. I
just wish I could run it all week long weather and season's permitting.
But right now I can’t, but in the future I have plans to expand
to other cities and and areas of Owensboro of the beaten path.
19. Have you ever taken a ghost Tour other then your own? And what did you learn from it?
I had taken one in Savannah and the one thing I didn’t like
about it was that the tour guide at the end of the tour more less
just drop us off at the end of the tour and we had to find our way
back to the car in area we were unfamiliar with. My tour because of
this experience I lead them back to their cars and where we began,
also the last story is at the end of the tour where their cars are
parked, and some say the area where they are is very haunted also.
20. What in the field of ghost hunting and Paranormal Investigating
or ghost tours needs the most attention?
All I can say is be professional, be nice, and have fun. I’m
sure people in these field already know this but tend to let their
emotions and ego get in the way. Smaller ghost tours are great because
you can relate to the people and explain more as you go. Just as it
seems larger groups tend to have more paranormal experiences occur.
Also IO think Tour guides should explain to their guest more of what
they might experience on the Ghost tour itself. I think it puts people
at ease as well as keeps them more open to the experience.

In our daily real life, things often end in a moment, and the fear of not having anything more affects us all. Some people many just want to experience the paranormal at certain points and times in their lives just as a thrill or a new experience. And these people usually just seek out a ghost tour during the Halloween season. Still others want to know for certain that their religious beliefs are so supported about an afterlife they wish to contact the dead to affirm to them the existence of the other side.
