Dr. Ed Craft
Ed is the Great Grandson of a Native American and a Hedge Wytch that began his personal quest for knowledge in his early teens while preaching as a Lutheran Youth Appointed Minister. In an effort to expand his mind, body and spirit he began a personal quest for answers he was not finding answers too using mainstream methods. He quickly found himself studying Buddhism through the teachings of the Shaolin Temple. This led him to the more esoteric form of Buddhism known as Tendai Mikkyo that eventually resulted in his obtaining the rank of sixth kyu in Ninpo Mikkyo, the mystic and esoteric knowledge of Japan 's legendary mountain warrior mystics.
Now living in South Florida, Ed is a independent investigator, researching ufology, ghosts, cryptozoology, radio talk show host and executive producer on the subjects. He is also an ordained Wytch in the Order of Occultist, Ordained High Priest in the Temple of Wicca and an Ordained Healer with a Doctorate of Divinity for his work in the field of mysticism and magick. He currently offers lectures, classes and seminars on Magick and the "Para"Normal. But, don't let his spiritual side fool you. Ed is a retired Veterinary Assistant and a U.S. Army veteran having a Secret Clearance in the U.S. Army. He has a firm scientific background and healthy skeptical viewpoint along with a willingness to keep an open mind. Already a recognized expert, speaker and author in the field of Hepetological research and medicine, he began to make every effort to bring his interests in the "Para"normal to the mainstream by taking his message of, "wake up world" the "para"normal is just simply normal, to the general public through his five time weekly radio program, Magick Magick Mind Radio.
Ed had his first unusual encounter with a "hairy creature" as a young Boy Scout in South Florida. Since his initial encounter with the unknown, he has experienced strange lights in the South Eastern States and Apparitions in graveyards across the Eastern U.S. including the wytches graveyard in Salem MA, strange occurances in homes and businesses during investigations, stood on the Pyramid of the Sun at the ruins of Teotihuican in Mexico, traveled through and investigated the Burmuda Triangle, learned remote viewing and mind control methods of ancient warrior traditions of Japan, witnessed exoteric Buhdist practices in Korea, and many more "para"normal phenomena. In spite of experiencing all these things with his own senses and personally investigating and researching them, he still searches for proof that these and other occurances are not "para"normal, but just plain normal for benefit of the rest of the world. His experiences and research have taken him on a very different path to discover the "Real Truth". He truely believes that the truth at best is just a "partial journey"?
A retired Veterinary Assistant and full-time independent investigator of the unknown, and a member of Team I Am Haunted investigative team. Ed has been interviewed on radio talk shows, online magazines, national news print, and on an international book on subjects of Magick and the "Para"Normal. He is also an author and well known authority in the field of Herpetoculture, having been interviewed on t.v. and newsprint, both locally and nationally on the subject. He has become known to listeners as "The Velvet Voice", but is actually "The Madmind" behind Magick Mind Radio, he is the Owner, Host and Executive Producer and currently spends his time still exploring and investigating the unknown while sharing his encounters and experiences with others during his nightly radio program. Sometimes deliberatley indirect, sometimes humorous, somtimes sarcastic, but always has a method to his apparent "madness". Tune in and enjoy the ride yourself and explore the unknown along the way.

Dr. Ed Craft 20 Questions
1. Where do you see ghost hunting and Paranormal groups, web sites or Ghost information, tours, Books, Paranormal Radio and Television in 10 years?
I think that "para"normal investigators will be around as long as man exists. It is in our human nature to seek answers to unknown questions and to explore those questions. The well-written and researched books will always be available and in demand, as always. Websites, as with any, will come and go and only the truly informative sites will go the distance. It is with the legitimate ghost hunters, ufologists and cryptozoologists that will still be around seeking answers and further details. Investigators who have been researching and investigating for over 20 years, like myself and others, that have seen the many changes that come and go will continue to withstand the test of time. I have witnessed many "pop-up" groups and investigators and even have their very first interviews, that become self-proclaimed "experts" in a years time in hopes of landing a TV or video deal. Time and the "school of hard knocks" has taught me over the years that only hard work, an open mind, years of investigation and research can allow anyone to reach a point where they can actually only begin to start searching for the "Real Truth". Being a Radio host/producer and a part owner of a network, I have a lot of faith in quality "para"normal talk radio, but see the currently growing list of shows begin to decline, leaving only the informative and high quality shows.
2. What would you personally consider to be the definitive proof that ghosts are real?
Ah, trick question. If we are to use the given standard that proof is based on scientific norm, how is it possible to prove the "para"normal? It is not. In fact the very term "para"normal is an oxymoron, based on the logic that anything outside the norm is by definition abnormal. The term "para"normal means outside of the norm and therefore has to be abnormal. If proof is based on the norm we cannot prove the abnormal. The best that we can hope for is to answer our own questions and those of others seeking those same answers by providing evidence that best satisfies the individuals that asks the questions.
3. What is the most real evidence you personally have uncovered so far?
Evidence being data on which a conclusion or judgment may be based. I would have to refer to one of my cases, in which I recorded a 10 degree increase in temperature, in a room at the same time the video recorded a ceramic doll on a dresser that was not present in the home (the owner was afraid of dolls and clowns) or upon visual observation with the naked eye and the owner was NOT present in the home at the time of the investigation. The room also recorded a two separate EVP's, one of a female requesting help and a male saying "kill her". The interview of the owner stated she had lost a younger sister several years prior and had always felt a "safe and protective" presence until seeing a "shadow figure" and then getting an "eerie" feeling that promomted the investigation. History of her family genealogy confirmed the death of her sister and family photos showed that she was very fond of ceramic dolls at the time of her death. a property history check revealed a past male resident. Further checking on the history of this male owner and tactful inquiring with long time neighbors revealed that he had a violent temper and was a non-sociable neighbor.
4. Are you skeptical of the claims other make of their findings?
I am skeptical of ALL findings, especially my own. I have a scientific viewpoint and feel that peer review is critical to discovering real answers. But, in dealing with the unknown it is essential to keep and open-mind and come to understand that it is impossible to apply normal rules of peer review to the abnormal and therefore, exceptions to those rules may need to be allowed. There are fakes and charlatans around every corner and if we question everything we will find no surprises in the shadows, only real answers.
5. If you could investigate your "Dream Haunted Hot Spot" where would it be?
Having been to many places, one place that I would really love to be able to do an overnight investigation in, is the now abandoned and off-limits, Sunyland Mental Hospital in Tallahassee, FL. It was originally a Tuberculosis Hospital in 1952 and eventually became one of the first places to use electroshock therapy on patients suffering from seizures. There are still rumors of illegal lobotomies and the hospital. In 1978 the Association of Retarded Citizens filed a class action suit against the hospital for neglect and the hospital was eventually closed in 1983 following on going charges of abuse and neglect.
6. What was your first Paranormal encounter?
My actual first was of a cryptozoological nature, but I will assume that based on the nature of this questionnaire, that it pertains to ghostly encounters. I experience a full body apparition in a country graveyard while visiting a family grave in the main graveyard with my father.
7. What scares you about Ghost Hunting or Paranormal Investigations?
"When we face our fears, the death of fear is certain", when it comes to the investigation itself. However, while on an investigation it is the unpredictable, and sometimes spontaneous nature of the living breathing human beings present that terrifies me. The unpredictable nature of living humans, represents an unknown variable during an investigation and it is a variable that cannot be prepared for in advance. We can always lay out a plan of action for emergencies and dangerous circumstances, but we can never be prepared for the human element.
8. If you could work side by side with one of the Paranormal Investigator greats, who would it be?
Harry Houdini, misrepresented as a skeptic, Harry Houdini was a die hard believer, who was tired of charlatans taking advantage of his fellow believers and spent his time exposing them, so that he and his fellow believers could find real answers unhindered by fakes. So devoted a believer that he went to his grave still promising to looking for a way to prove the existence of the "para"normal from the other side.
9. Read any good Paranormal Books lately?
Many, I am fortunate enough to receive numerous books each month for review. A quick few my favorites "off the top of my head" are:
Ghosts by Gaslight, by Troy Taylor
Ghost Hunting, by Loyd Auerbach
Crash at Corona, by Stanton Friedman
Witness to Roswell, by Thomas J. Carey & Donald R. Schmitt
Reich of the Black Sun, by Joseph Ferrell
Brotherhood of the Bell, by Joseph Ferrell
Shadow of the Dark, by John Zaffis
Weird Florida, by Charlie Carlson
Conspiracies and Secret Societies, by Brad Steiger
and the list goes on.
10. What Question do people ask you most when you tell them your a paranormal investigator, or Personality?
They usually ask me how I started investigating the unknown and how they could become involved.
11. In your opinion, Where is the most Haunted city in America?
Given my own research and that of others, as well as it long pre-U.S.history, I would say St. Augustine Florida.
12. Do you feel more people should get involved with Ghost hunting or Paranormal Investigation and EVP's?
I think that everyone should get involved that seeks answers. But, there is a right and a wrong way to do everything. Wandering around in a cemetery, home, hospital, etc. with an EMF meter in one hand and camera in the other and saying that every amateur photographer's error is a "ghost" because it is a light, is not the proper method of gathering real evidence. So many people are anxious to jump on the "fame train", that they overlook the reason that they became involved in the first place. Investigation is about answers NOT fame.
13. What does the future hold for you?
Since the future is just another now yet to be lived, i will simply continue to investigate and seek answers. Following the path that each answer leads me to.
14. Paranormal Conventions do you see them growing? And which ones are the Must go to ones?
OVERLOAD! It is that simple. When the term Conference turned into the term Convention, education and exploration went out the window and the party hats came in. I hope that the Conventions will come to pass and the educational and investigative Conferences will return.
The primary educational conferences that I would recommend are:
The Midsouth Paranormal Conference, The Annual Las Vegas UFO Conference, The World Ghost Conference and Team I Am Haunted Investigation Events.
15. What is your most favored paranormal subject?
Ufology, the study of unidentified flying objects (UFO) reports, sightings, alleged physical evidence, and other related phenomena.
16. Tell us about your best moment in investigating EVP's or conference attending for you?
My best moment investigating Electronic Voice Phenomena, was when I received my first perfectly clear, so called (I only consider perfectly clear voices to be an actual EVP at this point), "Class-A" EVP.
17. What is the hardest part about being a paranormal investigator?
The necessary evil of the endless typing, organizing and "office" work, etc. that comes after the actual interactive investigation. Let me see if I can describe it? It is like going to the restroom to take a huge "Zoeller" (comparative humor intended) and having to wipe, "no job is finished until the paperwork is done".
18. How do you document your investigations?
All of my hand written notes are transcribed and combined with the permissions form, interview questionnaire, weather reports, diagrams, geographic records, history, confidentiality forms, photographic, audio, video, temperature, EMF, Gausemeter, Casting (ufological/ crytozoological specific), Freedom of Information Act documents (ufological) and placed in a file that receives a case number to identify it and protect the confidentiality of owners and witnesses. Hair samples and any artifacts are sent to qualified experts in various fields for testing on a voluntary basis.
19. Have you ever taken a ghost Tour? And, What about it did you not like?
I have not taken a tour, but have been invited to go on the Daytona Beach Ghost Tour, but I am not really the tour type for anything, not just ghost tours. I prefer hands on investigation over going on a tour. I do however plan to give the Daytona Beach Ghost Tour a try the next time I am up that way just to say I have done it.
20. What in the field of ghost hunting and Paranormal Investigating needs the most attention.
Getting back to the basics. It seems as though more and more groups
and independent investigators are looking for quick answers. More
people are looking for new tools to investigate with prior to understanding
the how and why of the current tools. It is very much like buying
a child a power saw and and saying, "here you go, plug it in
and figure out how it works". Many new investigator record EVP's
and try to create new devices to record them without realizing that
we do not understand all the mechanism of the phenomena itself. How
can an investigator build a device that is based on an unknown and
unexplained phenomena? We know that some tools seem to get results,
but we do not know why they get those results, so investigators go
running around snapping pictures and recording EVP's, etc. without
trying to understand what it is that they are getting and why they
are getting it. They often make assumptions and guesses as to what
it is that is causing it without having any factual evidence as to
the actual cause. Again, the basics, who, what, where, when and why.
