RESEARCHING THE MOST HAUNTED PLACES AND THINGS IN THE WORLD
BY CRAIG LAFORTE
Today there is so much you read on the internet. From haunted lifestyles of those that explore the paranormal happenings in the world To viewing real ghost pictures and strange photos of cryptids and UFO's. Many just want to know where ghosts live to finding the hotspots of the most haunted locations in the world to investigate.
From London to Perth and Paris to the beaches of Southern Mexico ghost seem to be everywhere. Many today long for the perfect ghost encounter. And that is to be so changed by the experience that ones life is forever content in knowing the afterlife is real.
And in doing your ghost research you often find that many haunted stories of those that post them might just be similar or retold urban legends. Mostly these stories or of someone or something paranormal in nature wanting attention from beyond the grave. Be it just to say hello, or exact a vengeance on someone they despised in life. But once the haunted deed is done why do these ghosts actually stay around? Could it be punishment for the actions of the haunting they perpetrated?
REAL GHOST PHOTOS AND PICTURES OF A GHOST ORBS AND EVP's
Many who explore the realm of ghost photos almost always see the big picture as the fact that the image is explainable. 1 in 1000 ghost pictures usually are the real deal when you find them on line. The majority seem to be either just an anomalous glow or orb which is in most cases explainable as moisture or even hair or disturbed lint or dust. The rest of the photos you might come upon are in fact deliberate hoax's or just a case of Pareidolia. This well known psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as a ghost face or body. The same is considered when hearing garbled words from EVP's or a Ghost Box of some type that many are using today.
Ghostly orbs today are all to common. Many ghost hunters choose not to consider these as proof of anything except that dust or dander is floating in the air. Described as 'spirit energy', a manifestation of a departed soul. Spirit guides or angels. Orbs are often seen in conjunction with ectoplasm, a kind of spirit 'mist.
Another theory puts forward the idea that orbs are a kind of viewing device for multi-dimensional beings.
A further, very plausible explanation, is that true orbs are somehow related to 'earth lights', 'ball lightning', 'earthquake lights' and other anomalous light sources.
Common examples of supposed orb ghost pictures having people in them include seeing images of animals or faces in trees, shadows, smudges, and ecto smoky clouds.
I often laugh when I see videos of a piece of lint flying around a room and those that filmed it or convinced it is an intelligent entity showing itself to them in a haunted location. I actually do not dismiss it as not being paranormal but when 100's of others point out that it is just dust the fighting begins.
REPORTED AS REAL GHOST PICTURES
The true ghost photos on line are usually those that send a cold chill down your spine or the one that fascinates you the most. These are often emailed to friends and other members in paranormal groups to analyze. And many times the answer to what they have captured on film is proof that ghost are real. But still skeptics and de-bunkers have a field day with them also.
Real Ghost Photos from bBritish tv that I recorded in the 90's featuring the Wonderful Late Maurice Grosse, and Presented by Philip Schofield.
Well into the 21st century, spirit photography will have many high-profile supporters--including the physicist Sir William Crookes and the creator of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Dale Kaczmarek, and Ghost Hunter Gina Lanier.
The Mumler photographs sparked controversy and a strange career for Mumler as he took his “talent” and began taking portraits of people who, later on, saw the images of dead relatives next to them. Though his photographs were never proven to be false or genuine, Mumler started a public fascination with the spiritual world that has lived on today.
Today many web sites display ghost photos real and un real... We at Haunted America Tours only ask that you be the judge of what you believe is fact or fiction.
Mumler created a notorious series of "spirit photographs" that stunned an era. Thus the first known ghost photos were also the first fakes.
Still and video photography - using 35 mm, infrared, digital, and even disposable film cameras to capture evidence of possible visual manifestations, such as orbs, apparitions, and ectoplasm.
Participant-observation is a straightforward technique. It suggest that by immersing one self in the subject being studied, a researcher is presumed to gain understanding of the subject. In paranormal research, a participant-observer study might consist of a researcher visiting a place where alleged paranormal activity is said to occur and recording observations while there. Participation levels may vary. In studying a supposedly haunted location, for example, the researcher may conduct a Séances or participate in other activities said to cause paranormal activity. At which time many photographs are being taken not knowing if a ghostly image or spirit is being captured on film. the only way of finding out is by reviewing the material to see what strange anomalies have been captured during the investigation.
One significant modern example of a paranormal phenomenon is electromagnetic fields (EMF). At one time EMF was debatable from a scientific perspective but later was proven to be real and is currently accepted by scientific and medical communities. Some investigative teams use these spikes in their meters as a sign to snap a ghost picture.
New Orleans, Louisiana is very well known as being the Most Haunted City in The United States. Ghost Photos happen there all the time. From Cemetery ghost photos to Voodoo Spirit manifestations. This is the reason that now a days so many flock to investigate the cities of the dead.
Some Ghost refuse to be photographed, such is the case of Robert the haunted doll, One of Robert's favorite activities is to prevent his photo from being taken. Visitors have reported a variety of camera malfunctions and Robert's favorite trick is to black out his own photo, while leaving the remaining film unharmed . Haunted cursed or just a anomalous affect "The Haunted Doll" or spirit entity will not allow camera to work. Batteries go dead, equipment fails all of which usually goes back to normal once the entity is gone from the area.
Though Robert is available to take visitors year-round, the best time to introduce yourself, a practice recommended and followed by the museum staff, is during the month of October. During that one month, Robert is taken from the Martello Museum and housed in the Historic Custom House a few blocks down. It is during this time of year that he is said to be most active, and the employees always leave a bag of peppermints in his case with him in an attempt to cajole him into behaving. They swear there are always fewer candies the next morning.
Here at Haunted America Tours we are sent many photos of Robert the Haunted Doll more often then any other haunted possessed reported item. Other then ghost photos of Marie Laveau's Tomb.
LISTENING TO REAL EVP's THE TRUE WORDS OF THE DEAD!
As of late the new ghost hunting techniques of the 21st century include hearing hidden messages when EVP's or played in reverse. According to paranormal investigator John Zaffis, "There's been a boom in ghost hunting ever since the Internet took off." Investigators, equipped with electronic gear such as EMF meters, video cameras and audio recorders, scour reportedly haunted venues, trying to uncover visual and audio evidence of hauntings. Many use portable recording devices in an attempt to capture the latest greatest EVP.
Playing EVP's in reverse is really nothing new but new evidence in this research proves to many that ghost sometimes have a deeper message then one might surmise. One that actually amazed me was of a ghost saying, "Please leave my house." In reverse it said "You need to watch your step." The person who recorded said at that point they tripped. You could hear the digital recorder fall to the ground. Was the ghost actually warning them in reversed speach?

Electronic voice phenomena (EVP) are electronically captured sounds that resemble speech, but are not the result of intentional voice recordings. Common sources include static, stray radio transmissions and background noise. Some people claim these sounds are of paranormal origin, while there are also natural explanations such as apophenia (finding significance in insignificant phenomena), auditory pareidolia (interpreting random sounds as voices in their own language), equipment artefacts, or simple hoaxes. Recordings of electronic voice phenomena are often created from background sound by increasing the gain (i.e. sensitvity) of the recording equipment.
According to parapsychologist Konstantin Raudive, who popularized the idea, EVP's are typically brief, usually the length of a word or short phrase.
n 1982, Sarah Estep founded the American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomena (AA-EVP) in Severna Park, Maryland, a nonprofit organization with the purpose of increasing awareness of EVP, and of teaching standardized methods for capturing it. Estep began her exploration of EVP in 1976, and says she has made hundreds of recordings of messages from deceased friends, relatives, and other individuals, including Konstantin Raudive, Beethoven, a lamplighter from 18th century Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and extraterrestrials whom she speculated originated from other planets or dimensions.
The term 'Instrumental TransCommunication (ITC)' was coined by Ernst Senkowski in the 1970s to refer more generally to communication through any sort of electronic device such as tape recorders, fax machines, television sets or computers between spirits or other discarnate entities and the living. One particularly famous claimed incidence of ITC occurred when the image of EVP enthusiast Friedrich Jürgenson (whose funeral was held that day) was said to have appeared on a television in the home of a colleague, which had been purposefully tuned to a vacant channel. ITC enthusiastists also look at TV and video camera feedback loop of the Droste effect.
In 1997, Imants Barušs, of the Department of Psychology at the University of Western Ontario, conducted a series of experiments using the methods of EVP investigator Konstantin Raudive, and the work of "instrumental transcommunication researcher" Mark Macy, as a guide. A radio was tuned to an empty frequency, and over 81 sessions a total of 60 hours and 11 minutes of recordings were collected. During recordings, a person either sat in silence or attempted to make verbal contact with potential sources of EVP. Barušs stated that he did record several events that sounded like voices, but they were too few and too random to represent viable data and too open to interpretation to be described definitively as EVP. He concluded: "While we did replicate EVP in the weak sense of finding voices on audio tapes, none of the phenomena found in our study was clearly anomalous, let alone attributable to discarnate beings. Hence we have failed to replicate EVP in the strong sense." The findings were published in the Journal of Scientific Exploration in 2001, and include a literature review.
In 2005 the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research published a report by paranormal investigator Alexander MacRae. MacRae conducted recording sessions using a device of his own design that generated EVP. In an attempt to demonstrate that different individuals would interpret EVP in the recordings the same way, MacRae asked seven people to compare some selections to a list of five phrases he provided, and to choose the best match. MacRae said the results of the listening panels indicated that the selections were of paranormal origin.
Portable digital voice recorders are currently the technology of choice for EVP investigators. Since these devices are very susceptible to Radio Frequency (RF) contamination, EVP enthusiasts sometimes try to record EVP in RF- and sound-screened rooms.Nevertheless, in order to record EVP there has to be noise in the audio circuits of the device used to produce the EVP. For this reason, those who attempt to record EVP often use two recorders that have differing quality audio circuitry and rely on noise heard from the poorer quality instrument to generate EVP.
Some EVP enthusiasts describe hearing the words in EVP as an ability, much like learning a new language.[25] Skeptics say that the claimed instances are all either hoaxes or misinterpretations of natural phenomena. EVP and ITC are seldom researched within the scientific community and, as ideas, are generally derided by scientists when asked.
