Ursula Bielski is the founder
of Chicago Hauntings, Inc. An historian,
author, and parapsychology enthusiast,
she has been writing and lecturing about
Chicago's supernatural folklore and the
paranormal for nearly 20 years, and is
recognized as a leading authority on the
Chicago region's ghostlore and cemetery
history. She is the author of five popular
and critically acclaimed books on the
same subjects, all published by Lake Claremont
Press.
Ursula's interests in Chicago
ghost hunting began at a young age. She
grew up in a haunted house on Chicago's
north side and received an early education
in Chicago history from her father, a
Chicago police officer, who introduced
Ursula to the ghosts at Graceland Cemetery,
Montrose Point and the old lockup at the
storied Maxwell Street Police Station.
Since that time Ursula has been involved
in countless investigations of haunted
sites in and around Chicago, including
such notorious locales as Wrigley Field,
the Congress Hotel, the Indiana Dunes,
the Red Lion Pub, Hull House, Bachelors
Grove Cemetery, Rose Hill Cemetery, haunted
Archer Avenue, Chinatown, the Eastland
disaster site, Death Alley, Dillinger's
Alley and the St. Valentine's Day Massacre
site. Her paranormal travels have also
led her to investigate sites as diverse
and infamous as the Bell Witch Cave in
Tennessee; the Oshkosh, Wisconsin Opera
House; New Orleans' House of the Rising
Sun; the City Cemetery in Key West, Florida;
and the Civil War Battlefield at Gettysburg,
Pennsylvania.

The First Annual Chicago Ghost Conference
kicked off Saturday morning October
27, 2007 in the haunted Florentine
Ballroom at the historic and elegant
Congress Plaza Hotel in Downtown Chicago.
Many were in attendance for this first
time Chicago Event hosted by Ursula
Bielski (Chicago Hauntings), Michael
McDowell (Indiana Ghost Trackers)
and Slim Pictures which featured a
full slate of both very entertaining
and informative speakers which included
Sally Rhine Feather "The Princes
of Parapsychology", Michael McDowell
(Founder of the Indiana Ghost Trackers),
Elizabeth Rintoul (Chicago Ghostlorists),
Brian Leffler (Founder of NMPI), John
Kachuba (Author), Nate Larson (artist).
Gregory Myers (President of Paranormal
Task Force) and Mark Macy (Renown
Instrumental Transcommunication Specialist).
Mike has been investigating
the paranormal since 1998. He formed
the Indiana Ghost Trackers in August
2000. Since then, has been involved
in hundreds of investigations throughout
Indiana and other states. Mike does
lectures and training classes regularly
for IGT. He also constructed the original
website.
In the working world, Mike is attending
Purdue University part-time as a senior
working on his Bachelor degree in
Computer Systems Analysis. His minor
is management. He has worked since
1999 in Chicago for Sara Lee Corporation
as an Equipment Coordinator for Best
Kosher Foods. He coordinates repairs
on hundreds of Hot Dog Steamers owned
by Sara Lee in the US and Canada,
move them around the country and handle
other various issues in relation to
them.
In 1996, Mike started a non-profit
chat club that got together for live
events one to two times per year.
He completed his term as President
of that organization in December of
2000 as IGT was starting up.
In his spare time, Mike enjoys medieval
festivals, fishing, hiking, camping
and spending time outdoors. He also
enjoys spending time with his two
wonderful children
The attendees were
not disappointed by the slate of speakers
or the evening and night time events
to choose from.
Dr. Sally Rhine Feather
- (Parapsychology 101)
Dr. Sally Rhine Feather
is the eldest daughter of Dr. J.B.
Rhine, known as the "father of
ESP research." She practically
grew up at the Parapsychology Lab
at Duke University, where her father's
famous ESP card tests led to “Extrasensory
Perception” becoming a household
word in America. After obtaining a
Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Dr.
Feather returned to her father's laboratory
to work on ESP experiments and research.
She then earned a Doctorate in Experimental
Psychology from Duke University.

Dr. Feather is a licensed clinical
psychologist, completing her postdoctoral
fellowship in clinical psychology
at the University of North Carolina.
She also founded the Psychic Experience
Group (PEG) at the Rhine Research
Center which functions as a support
group allowing people who have had
troubling psychic experiences to meet
and share those experiences without
fear of ridicule or judgment. Dr.
Feather's current parapsychology focus
is developing the Rhine Research Center's
research program investigating the
possibility of applying psi ability
to the health and healing field.
