Dolls have
been around for far longer than most would
think, archaeological evidence placing dolls
as foremost candidate for oldest known toy,
having been found in Egyptian tombs which
date to as early as 2000 BC. In Egypt, as
well as Greece and Rome, it was common to
find them in the graves of children, these
were mainly made from wood, however, among
the wealthier families, pottery dolls were
also found.
Many suggest that dolls were around even
before 2000 BC, going further back to prehistoric
times.

THE
HAUNTED REAL DEVIL'S BABY DOLLS
As a child
I wanted a baby doll, but I did not know why,
I was a boy and at that time it wasn't quite
right for a kid like me to have such a toy.
Dolls were for girls my parents would say.
But the actual doll I wanted was the one that
haunted me in my dreams. He was a shadow of
a whisper, a ghost in the night that came
to me... calling my name and begging me to
hold it, rescue it...take it ... make it real
and very much alive. Each night it crept cat-like
hidden into my deep slumbers... asking me
to rescue it from it's eternal black prison
of a hell.
I have always
feared dolls. Still to this day don't know
as to why I do. A friend of Mine said it was
that I associated them with dead babies.

My sister was
hard on her Barbie dolls and would play with
them so much their hair would get ragged and
sooner or later there arms/legs would come
off and she'd swing them around in the back
yard by the hair until they went sailing either
over the fence or onto the roof never to be
seen again. If those dolls could come to life
what stories they would tell. Like Sid who
tortured his toys in the animated Pixar movie
,Toy Story
I didn't want this doll to hold or cuddle,
rock a bye baby and sing it off to sweet sleep.
Nor dress it up like a christened infant on
iy's white laced finery, and show it to all
to admire and see. I wanted it because it
wanted me. But now in reality I know I was
to young, to too small minded, innocent to
know what real evil actually could really
a haunted doll be.
At first I only saw it's brown-gray-green
eyes, shiny distorted and made of glass. Then
I would awaken ... Fast and so chilled, blue,
teeth chattering, shaking, and iced cold!
No matter what the season, what humid summers
morning scorching hot day. I think I was really
to, too young to know that the trembling,
the feeling so remembered of winters white
icy frigid biting cold was. The intense shaking
was really my great unknown quality of real
fear. And I now know that now all to very
well.
By the time I was 12 years old I could only
count the nights I did not dream of him only
on one hand. Experiences and true stories
pertaining to haunted dolls, evil dolls, or
possessed and cursed dolls. I now collect
spooky dolls and here are some I found on
the net with a brief explanations. I guess
I'm in search of that doll that haunted me
the one I never held or really knew.
As I grew up
and leared of Robert Eugene " Gene"
Otto and his Very Haunted doll Robert.
As the story
goes the servant gave Gene a doll. The doll
standing three feet tall, and stuffed with
straw. With life like features, that were
at first very endearing to Gene. He decided
to name the doll "Robert".
The doll became
a constant companion to Gene. It is said that
the Otto's often heard Gene upstairs talking
to the doll. This in it self might not have
been so bad? The Otto's were puzzled to hear
the boy answering himself in an entirely different
voice than his own?
Many Strange
things began to occur in the Otto household.
Many neighbors claimed to see Robert move
about from window to window, when the family
were out. Gene began to blame Robert for mishaps
that would occur. The Otto's claimed to hear
the doll giggle, and swear they caught glimpses
of the doll running about the house.
Gene began
to have nightmares and scream out in the night,
when his parents would enter the room, they
would find furniture over turned, their child
in a fright, and Robert at the foot of the
bed, with his glaring gaze! "Robert Did
It".... The doll was eventually put up
into the attic. Where he resided for many
years.
When Gene's
parents died, and the Otto home came to Gene,
Robert was rediscovered in the attic. Robert
hold on Gene was strong, and from the moment
Gene laid eyes on him, Robert's influence
could be again felt. Well Gene's wife Robert
unsettling. One day she decided she had enough
of Roberts glare...and returned him to his
attic sanctuary. Gene was displeased, and
demanding that Robert needed a room of his
own where he could see out of the window.
He put Robert in the turret room, by a window.
It wasn't long after that Gene's sanity was
questioned?
The citizens
of Key West heard about Robert, and his evil
doings. Many people walking by the home reported
that the doll watched from the turret room,
and mocked them as they passed... School children
feared walking by the Otto home , in fear
of Roberts mean glare.
Go on any on-line
auction website, and you'll see many auctions
for haunted
dolls. Haunted dolls seem to be the craze
for both ghost hunters and curious
people who want a ghost in their home; but
there's a chance you'll get an old
doll that you might have paid too much for.
Buyer beware!
The infamous
"Haunted Harold" doll that supposedly
started it all, from web sites and news articles
devoted to him, to just the curious wanting
to know what's up. I also know that ebay has
been inundated with bogus (and sometimes very
creative and humorous "haunted"
items for sale). This doll was offered on
Ebay, seems it moves and voices are heard
comming from it. It looks very much like many
of my own dolls, it is composition, probably
made in the 1930s, and there is a brief film
where it does apear to move slightly. The
Doll from what I can research on it has been
sold more then once. At the price of $720.00.
Ebay's
real Haunted dolls seem to be all then more
just a passing rage for both amateur and professional
ghost hunters, and also serious haunted doll
collectors now a days. Here you will find
many of Haunted America Tours visitors submitted
reported real haunted doll ghost photos for
you to see, and scrutinize. Many were taken
by people investigating their haunted dolls
, or just photos they took of their dolls
to sell then found out they were haunted.

overly crude to rude they have exisited in
many cultures. The true devil doll is always
red skinned and horned, sometimes with a tail
pitchfork and wings. Images of the Devil has
always meant to strike fear into the heartd

are to shy to hold.

of effigy cursing calls for the magician to
fashion a wax or cloth Devil Doll Simular

of the intended victim on its back. The doll
is then pierced with a knife or a large rusty
nail in the area corresponding to the victim's
body part that the sorcerer desires to inflict
with pain. Once pierced, the Devil doll is

Worry Devil
dolls, or trouble dolls, are very small dolls
originally made in New Orleans only. A person
who cannot sleep due to worrying can place
a worry Devil doll under the pillow; the doll
is thought to chase away the person's problems
with it's fearsom look, thereby permitting
the person to sleep. In the morning they wake
up without their worries, which have been
taken away by the Devil dolls during the night.
