Mark Nesbitt, Author,
The Ghosts of Gettysburg Series
By
Lisa Lee Harp Waugh
Mark Nesbitt was born in
Lorain, Ohio, and graduated
from Baldwin-Wallace College
with a BA in English Literature.
He worked for the National Park
Service as a Ranger/Historian
for five years and then became
a Licensed Battlefield Guide.
His job with the National Park
Service provided him not only
the opportunity to spend time
in all of the historic buildings
located in the Gettysburg National
Park, but actually to live in
four of the historic houses.
Living in Gettysburg since 1971
has provided him with a unique
“insider” perspective.
I first became aware of Author
Mark Nesbitt when he appeared
on Coast To Coast AM With George
Norry July 26th, 2004. Nesbitt
shared many interesting well
told stories of ghosts and apparitions
seen in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
which was host to the bloodiest
battle of the Civil War, where
approximately 50,000 soldiers
lost their lives over a 3-day
period. Curiously, even before
the battle in 1863, a ghostly
visitation of George Washington
leading an army was seen on
the site, he also noted.
Nesbitt a true paranormal investigator
offered several of his own interesting
theories as to why Gettysburg
is one of the most haunted places
in America.
" Because their deaths
were so sudden, many of the
soldiers may not have realized
they died." Said Nesbitt.
"Additionally, since they
were in the throes of war against
their own countrymen they may
fear facing "judgment"
in crossing over." "Thirdly,
Gettysburg's geology contains
a lot of quartz rock which is
thought to capture electricity
which could facilitate paranormal
occurrences."
"A lot of the haunting
phenomena are auditory rather
than visual, said Nesbitt, who
described reports where "volleys
of gunfire were heard in the
woods." " EVP's recorded
in the area sometime take the
form of "an angry growl,"
rather than specific words,
he said. With the sightings
of apparitions, Nesbitt commented
that 40-45% of them actually
occurred during daylight hours."
I was so impressed with his
great interview I decided to
travel to Gettysburg and check
it out for myself. I took the
The Ghosts of Gettysburg Candlelight
Walking Tours®. And I was
never more impressed on how
well it was presented. And also
the many reactions from those
on the walk with me as they
stated that they felt the actual
ghosts touching them.
I would have to
say in all honesty this was
the most haunted and paranormal
active ghost tour I have ever
taken in the United States to
date. And I can certainly recommend
it to everyone who visits the
area. Make sure that this Tour
is the one that you take. The
actual Ghost Of Gettysburg ghost
tour Headquarters is also a
very haunted location to visit
and check out. Located at 271
Baltimore Street at Breckenridge
Street. You certainly won't
be disappointed if you explore
this location. Take along a
camera and a digital voice recorder.
Real captured EVP's and Ghost
Photos happen in the building
all the time.
Nesbitt also offers
many tours that are sure to
peek the interest of any Paranormal
Researcher or novice Ghost Hunter.
I suggest you take the time
and take each of his remarkable
tours you won't be in anyway
at a loss for experiencing what
real Haunted Gettysburg is all

Over
the years since the battle,
stories of scores of sightings,
stranger than reality, have
emerged from the quaint houses
and gentle fields in and around
the town of Gettysburg: Stories
of sightings of these soldiers,
moving again in battlelines,
across the fields where they
once marched. . . and died;
tales of visions through a rip
in time into the horrible scene
of a Civil War hospital; whispers
of a look at men long dead held
eternally captive by duty. These
apparitions -and more- come
back to remind us, in one way
or another that they are not
to be forgotten for what they
did here. . .
In research for his books,
Mark Nesbitt collected hundreds
of these tales of the unexplainable
sightings, entity activity or
those strange echoes from a
time long gone that can mean
only one thing: Gettysburg may
very well be, acre for acre,
the most haunted place in America.
Now, armed with tales from
these ghost books - and with
a few that aren't in the books
- knowledgeable guides will
take you on your choice of several
evening tours through sections
of town that were bloody battlefields
13 decades ago; through night-darkened
streets to houses and buildings
where it's not as quiet as it
should be; to sites on the old
Pennsylvania College campus
where the slain once lay in
rows, and the wounded suffered
horribly, waiting to become
corpses themselves; to cemeteries
where the dead lie. . . sometimes
not so peacefully.

About
Lisa Lee Harp Waugh
Have
The Dead Spoken To You Lately?
Lisa Lee Harp Waugh
The American Necromancer
The first lady of conjuring the Dead.
The ancient art pf Necromancy is still
alive today with Waugh at it's main
investigator. LISA LEE HARP WAUGH
Is a necromancer in the 21st century.
She is by what may call a real conduit
to the world of the dead. She dressers
in ceremonial robes, draws magical
circles on the floor and commands
spirits from Heaven, Hell and all
places in between to appear before
her and communicate with the living.
As a teenager she studied heavily
The Black Arts by Richard Cavendish
and The Grand Grimoire by A.E Waite,
the Malleus Maleficarum and anything
she could get her hands on by the
great by Eliphas Levi, John Dee and
the great beast, Aleister Crowley.
www.ghosthuntersofamerica.com
A professional Necromancer and founder
of the Sorcerers and Necomaner Guild
of greater Houston, Texas. Waugh has
been practicing and conducting rituals
for many paranormal investigators
for over 20 years. Waugh also paints
many spiritual and common murals and
lives in a small Texas town with her
three dogs. She also over the years
makes ceremonial candles and is active
in ghost hunting in the deep South.
Summoning the dead to communicate
with the living is a natural daily
occurrence for Waugh. "I have
been doing this since I was a child."
" When I lived in Galveston,
Texas about 15 years ago, I was introduced
to the ancient rights of ceremonial
Necromancy as a ritual by a great
shaman called Freebird, and because
of him and his diligence to the art,
I still practice it until this day."
"However, if a spirit has something
vital to impart to you, they will
call upon you, not vice-versa and
no ritual is needed".
She then Got involved with the local
Hoodoo Voodoo's of the area and new
doors where opened to her concerning
communicating with the dead.
Waugh was baptized and trained in
the secret dark religion by Bianca
The Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. Waugh
lived in New Orleans for 3 years until
she learned all about spells, hex's
and how to hoodoo voodoo people as
she says.
Waugh also owned and managed the
fantastic Candle Making Company in
Galveston, Texas for many years that
catered to the eclectic patrons taste
of many of the states visitors and
just curious. She then moved to Houston's
Famous Vodoun area 5th ward. This
now where she resides to this day.
Her home today is a testimony to Necromancy
and her new found religion of Voodoo
Hoodoo.
Necromantic practitioners such as
Waugh conducts, and entails respect
and reverence not only for the spirits
of the dead, but for the spirits of
Hell, Heaven and all places in between.
Waugh has a large home one room she
has painted black where she calls
the good spirits. Another painted
all black where she calls the infernal
spirits.

Waugh is often compared today in
her facial features and many similar
practices as being a modern Dr. John
Dee. He of course was one of the most
fascinating characters of the Elizabethan
period just as Waugh is recognized
as such in modern times. The events
of Dee's life are filled with science,
experiments, astrology and mathematics
which he aligned with magic, the supernatural
and alchemy! All of which is Waugh's
personal passion and driven honest
beliefs. These are also stead fast
traditions she does and true in practicing
openly. A few of her select followers
say she is the actual reincarnation
of John Dee. Waugh also practices
astrology, and is very continuously
studying the Black Arts.
Waugh, a real big hearted Texas gal
does not comment on any of this privately
or publicly ... for she is humble
in her paranormal studies and research
to the core. Gina Lanier a close friend
of her's relates: "Waugh is a
very outgoing friendly, charming and
a downright loveable person, and gets
along equally well with the living
and the dead." Lanier and Waugh
once investigated a real Haunted Texas
Federal Prison together for close
to two years in the early 1990's and
had many startling paranormal adventures
while there.
Lisa Lee Harp Waugh's accomplishments
have been achieved through hard work,
persistence, and a goal-oriented attitude
required to overcome obstacles and
reach difficult goals. Waugh shares
her approach to communicating with
the dead's success in this motivational
performance that's sure to inspire
Paranormal Investigators to excel
in their life.
