Troy
Taylor the author of 55 books about
history, hauntings and the unexplained
in America The man has scoured the
many highways and byways of America
to find out the real scoop on The
Most Haunted hots spots in the United
States and beyond. In April 2008,
Troy and his wife, Haven, opened Prairie
Fire, a retail store in historic downtown
Decatur. The store specializes in
teas, herbs, spices, pastas, gourmet
food and hot food items and also serves
as a retail outlet for the Whitechapel
Press line of books and as home to
the Haunted Decatur Tours. his web
site is www.prairieghosts.com.
Taylor is also the illustrious founder
and president of the “American
Ghost Society”, a national network
of ghost hunters that collects accounts
of ghost sightings and haunted houses
and uses investigative techniques
to track down evidence of the supernatural.
I have had the pleasure in Taylor's
ealy career to have met him on a few
occasions. I actually have several
copies of his books which I had him
autograph to me at his eariler Haunted
America Confrence's. I always enjoy
seeing his smiling face. The man is
just a ball of energy and life. He
knows everyone in the paranomal field
today. His list of friends is like
the Who's who of all the people who
have ever seen a real ghost.
Taylor has been called one of the
most haunted men in the world by many
of his contemporaries in the field
today. He was born on September 24,
1966 in "Decatur, Illinois".
Well where in the hell you might
ask is "Decatur, Illinois"
. Well it is the largest city and
the county seat of Macon County in
the U.S. state of Illinois. This Central
Illinois city, sometimes called "the
Soybean Capital of the World,"
was founded in 1823 and is located
in Central Illinois along the Sangamon
River and Lake Decatur.
Decatur was the first home in Illinois
of Abraham Lincoln, who settled just
west of Decatur with his family in
1830. Lincoln gave his first political
speech in Decatur about the importance
of Sangamon River navigation that
caught the attention of Illinois political
leaders. As a lawyer on the 8th Judicial
Circuit, Lincoln made frequent stops
in Decatur, and argued five cases
in the log courthouse that stood on
the corner of Main & Main Streets.
The original courthouse is now on
the grounds of the Macon County Historical
Museum on North Fork Road. There is
a restaurant in Decatur, the Lincoln
Square Lounge, which is built on the
site where he gave a speech to the
people in Decatur while campaigning
for President. And many say he still
haunts the very spot to this day.
There or many , many more ghost that
haunt Chicago and go bump in the night
all over American and the world. I
do highly suggest you should read
one of Troy Taylor's wonderful best
sellers to learn more.
The
Haunted America Confrence
In 1997, Taylor launched
the Haunted America Conference, regarded
as "America's Original Ghost
Conference". After a number of
years in Alton, Illinois, the conference
has returned to its original site
at the Lincoln Theater in Decatur.
The Haunted America Conference remains
the most visited conference by the
best paranormal people in the community
today. Taylor is now in preparation
for his 13th annual event in 2009.

In 1989, Taylor turned his interest
in the supernatural into a career
when he began working on his first
book, Haunted Decatur , which delved
into the ghosts and hauntings of the
city where he grew up. The book spawned
the Haunted Decatur Tour in 1994,
which took guests to locations that
he had written about in his book.

Taylor in 1996, organized a group
of ghost enthusiasts into an investigation
team and the American Ghost Society
was launched, gained over 600 members
in the years that followed. The organization
continues today as one of America’s
largest and most honored and respected
research groups.
In 1998, Taylor moved his operations,
which now included the American Ghost
Society, a history and hauntings bookstore
and a publishing company called Whitechapel
Press, to Alton, Illinois, near St.
Louis. In Alton, Taylor started his
second tour company, Alton Hauntings,
which took guests to local haunted
places in the small Mississippi River
town. He would go on to put the place
on the map as “one of the most
haunted small towns in America.”
He also founded the History &
Hauntings Book Co., which continues
operations with new owner Bill Alsing
today.
Taylor remained in Alton until 2005,
when he returned to Decatur. By then,
he had also established two more tour
companies, in Springfield, Illinois
and another company that arranges
overnight stays in haunted places
called American Hauntings. These tours,
including those in Decatur and Alton,
were organized under the heading of
the Illinois Hauntings Ghost Tours.
Taylor also continued the operation
of Whitechapel Press, which specializes
in ghost-related titles and has more
than a dozen authors working under
its banner.
In 2006, Taylor also launched the
Weird Chicago Tours, which are based
on his book, Weird Illinois, which
was published by Sterling Publications.
In 2007, Illinois Hauntings also launched
ghost tours in the Illinois towns
of Lebanon and Jacksonville.

Along with writing about the unusual
and hosting tours, Taylor is also
a public speaker on the subject of
ghosts and hauntings and has spoken
to literally hundreds of private and
public groups on a variety of paranormal
subjects. He has appeared in newspaper
and magazine articles about ghosts
and has also been fortunate enough
to be interviewed hundreds of times
for radio and television broadcasts
about the supernatural. He has appeared
in a number of documentary films,
several television series and in one
feature film about the paranormal.
He also the executive producer for

The American Ghost Society
is a national network of ghost
hunters and psychical researchers
who conduct investigations
into the paranormal in a non-metaphysical
manner. One of our main goals
is to seek out allegedly haunted
locations and to assist those
who are experiencing problems
with the paranormal. The group
members then look for authentic
evidence of the paranormal
and try to determine if the
location is haunted. We are
seeking genuine evidence and
are careful about the presentation
of this evidence... insuring
that it is legitimate, researched
and analyzed before being
presented to the general public.
By combining history with
ghost research, we offer a
unique approach to psychical
research that few (if any)
groups can offer.
The credibility of the group
is maintained above all else
as we do not work with psychics
or conduct investigations
using metaphysical methods.
We are not "Ghost Busters",
but when a case does prove
to be genuine, assistance
through other channels may
be provided at the location
owner's request.
In addition, we do not claim
to be experts in the paranormal,
as no experts exist when it
comes to the supernatural,
no matter what anyone may
claim or who may claim to
be one. We are instead working
to present an image of competent
researchers who are collecting
the most authentic evidence
possible. Investigations conducted
under the auspices of the
American Ghost Society are
always held to the standards
of the group and are conducted
with integrity, honesty and
with discretion.
The American Ghost Society
is also different than other
ghost hunting organizations
because we are a tangible
society and network, not just
an internet mailing list.
We are a real group with active
members and investigators
and provide a newsletter and
a private discussion list
for members to interact and
to share notes on ghosts,
hauntings, current research,
investigations and more. However,
we do have a limited membership
system. Membership is open
to everyone for the first
year but only active and participating
members are invited to renew
for continuing membership.

About
Lisa Lee Harp Waugh
Have
The Dead Spoken To You Lately?
Lisa Lee Harp Waugh
The American Necromancer
The first lady of conjuring the Dead.
The ancient art pf Necromancy is still
alive today with Waugh at it's main
investigator. LISA LEE HARP WAUGH
Is a necromancer in the 21st century.
She is by what may call a real conduit
to the world of the dead. She dressers
in ceremonial robes, draws magical
circles on the floor and commands
spirits from Heaven, Hell and all
places in between to appear before
her and communicate with the living.
As a teenager she studied heavily
The Black Arts by Richard Cavendish
and The Grand Grimoire by A.E Waite,
the Malleus Maleficarum and anything
she could get her hands on by the
great by Eliphas Levi, John Dee and
the great beast, Aleister Crowley.
www.ghosthuntersofamerica.com
A professional Necromancer and founder
of the Sorcerers and Necomaner Guild
of greater Houston, Texas. Waugh has
been practicing and conducting rituals
for many paranormal investigators
for over 20 years. Waugh also paints
many spiritual and common murals and
lives in a small Texas town with her
three dogs. She also over the years
makes ceremonial candles and is active
in ghost hunting in the deep South.
Summoning the dead to communicate
with the living is a natural daily
occurrence for Waugh. "I have
been doing this since I was a child."
" When I lived in Galveston,
Texas about 15 years ago, I was introduced
to the ancient rights of ceremonial
Necromancy as a ritual by a great
shaman called Freebird, and because
of him and his diligence to the art,
I still practice it until this day."
"However, if a spirit has something
vital to impart to you, they will
call upon you, not vice-versa and
no ritual is needed".
She then Got involved with the local
Hoodoo Voodoo's of the area and new
doors where opened to her concerning
communicating with the dead.
Waugh was baptized and trained in
the secret dark religion by Bianca
The Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. Waugh
lived in New Orleans for 3 years until
she learned all about spells, hex's
and how to hoodoo voodoo people as
she says.
Waugh also owned and managed the
fantastic Candle Making Company in
Galveston, Texas for many years that
catered to the eclectic patrons taste
of many of the states visitors and
just curious. She then moved to Houston's
Famous Vodoun area 5th ward. This
now where she resides to this day.
Her home today is a testimony to Necromancy
and her new found religion of Voodoo
Hoodoo.
Necromantic practitioners such as
Waugh conducts, and entails respect
and reverence not only for the spirits
of the dead, but for the spirits of
Hell, Heaven and all places in between.
Waugh has a large home one room she
has painted black where she calls
the good spirits. Another painted
all black where she calls the infernal
spirits.
The
American Ghost Hunters Society is
currently accepting new members all
across the country for our network
of ghost hunters, ghost writers and
ghost enthusiasts.
We
Investigate all types of Paranormal
and Unexplained Phenomena through
Research and Documentation.
Waugh is often compared today in
her facial features and many similar
practices as being a modern Dr. John
Dee. He of course was one of the most
fascinating characters of the Elizabethan
period just as Waugh is recognized
as such in modern times. The events
of Dee's life are filled with science,
experiments, astrology and mathematics
which he aligned with magic, the supernatural
and alchemy! All of which is Waugh's
personal passion and driven honest
beliefs. These are also stead fast
traditions she does and true in practicing
openly. A few of her select followers
say she is the actual reincarnation
of John Dee. Waugh also practices
astrology, and is very continuously
studying the Black Arts.
Waugh, a real big hearted Texas gal
does not comment on any of this privately
or publicly ... for she is humble
in her paranormal studies and research
to the core. Gina Lanier a close friend
of her's relates: "Waugh is a
very outgoing friendly, charming and
a downright loveable person, and gets
along equally well with the living
and the dead." Lanier and Waugh
once investigated a real Haunted Texas
Federal Prison together for close
to two years in the early 1990's and
had many startling paranormal adventures
while there.
Lisa Lee Harp Waugh's accomplishments
have been achieved through hard work,
persistence, and a goal-oriented attitude
required to overcome obstacles and
reach difficult goals. Waugh shares
her approach to communicating with
the dead's success in this motivational
performance that's sure to inspire
Paranormal Investigators to excel
in their life.
