Do you feel like the ghost in your house is pressuring you to do things you don't want to do. Are do you feel like you have to hide from the ghost that haunts where you work or visit? Then you might have encountered a bully of a ghost. To many Ghost hunters write it off as a poltergeist. But it essence I feel they are very wrong. And that this today's over saturation of ghost hunters might be at the root.

"If aggressive behavior is not challenged when a person was alive, there is a danger that it may become haunting reality after they are dead. There is paranormal research evidence be collected today, to indicate that bullying during a lifetime this unacceptable behavior and violence can more then likely occur in a real life haunting by a ghost also.

Ghostly bullying does not necessarily involve criminality or physical violence. For example, bullying often operates through psychological abuse also.

Bullying is an act of repeated aggressive behavior in order to intentionally hurt another person. Bullying is characterized by an individual behaving in a certain way to gain power over another person (Besag, 1989). Behaviors may include name calling, verbal or written abuse, exclusion from activities, exclusion from social situations, physical abuse, or coercion (Carey, 2003; Whitted & Dupper, 2005). Bullies may behave this way to be perceived as popular or tough or to get attention. They may bully out of jealousy or be acting out because they themselves are bullied (Crothers & Levinson, 2004).

Certain people are usually targets for real life bullies, whether it is premeditated by looks, race religion or just that a person wears their vulnerability on their sleeve. And as I see it many of the would be paranormal ghost hunters in this world with no experience other then what they have seen on television, visited a web site or read in a book, might just be making themselves a para normally open target for a haunting or a ghost scare they will never forget!

A ghost "Bully for you!"

Some victims of paranormal activity, in the hopes of finding peace with the hauntings they experience, call in help to find evidence of their experience and thereby prove their own sanity. There are some that call in help to banish spirits or haunting because they can’t explain it or they don’t understand it, harmless as it may be. Then there are some who call for help because there is a genuine danger in what they are experiencing, and they definitely want it removed.

A few weeks ago I was part of an investigation in Galveston, Texas restaurant, a waiter Tommy Gilchrist was sitting at a table folding napkins before the the doors open for business when we heard a loud crash from the far side of the room.

We found a several boxes of condiments lying on the floor, “It always like this,”Gilchrist said and it happens to me more then anyone else who works here," he said. “It wasn’t necessarily scary at first until I got there and realized it was targeted at me.” There have also been many times when items have gone missing, only to turn up days later in unusual locations. “It’s not even a case of coming back five minutes later and finding it, it literally is moved somewhere else and it’s a couple days before you find it,” he said. " I'm ready to quit by the weekend if this does not stop!"

Gilchrist told us that he had been bullied many times in his at school and work at other jobs but he liked this job and every one there was nice except for the ghost. In the opinion of some paranormal investigators certain people, whether its their personality or psychic level become the target of ghost who want to bully them Gina Lanier has a paranormal investigator from New Orleans suggest they the living person may resemble a person that a ghost does not like or perhaps the ghost instinctively knows that this person is vulnerable to being bullied.

I believe that the question paranormal investigators should ask each person experiencing a haunting is... Do you feel like your being pressured by the ghost? Many people do not acess the person who is being haunted to see if they are the easily bullied type. I also believe that the question of have you ever been bullied in your life should be asked of all those that are openly admitting that they are being haunted directly and frightened by the experience repealedly.

Once a bully always a bully!

USA National Center for Education Statistics suggests that bullying can be broken into two categories: Direct bullying, and indirect bullying which is also known as social aggression.

Bullying involves a great deal of physical aggression such as shoving and poking, throwing things, slapping, choking, punching and kicking, beating, stabbing, pulling hair, scratching, biting and scraping. All of this is associated on paranormal levels as that of a malicious ghost trying to bet someone to move out of their house as documented in the well known cases.

Lanier also suggests that social aggression or indirect bullying is characterized by threatening the victim into social isolation. The effects of bullying can be serious and even fatal. Mona O’Moore Ph. D of the Anti-Bullying Centre, Trinity College Dublin, said, "There is a growing body of research which indicates that individuals, whether child or adult who are persistently subjected to abusive behavior are at risk of stress related illness which can sometimes lead to suicide". and just imagine if your being bullied from an unseen force of the paranormal kind. "I believe," says Lanier, "that many victims of a haunted bullying can suffer from long term emotional and behavioral problems." "Bullying can cause loneliness, depression, anxiety, lead to low self-esteem and increased susceptibility to illness."

Research indicates that adults who bully have personalities that are authoritarian, combined with a strong need to control or dominate It has also been suggested that a deficit in social skills and a prejudicial view of subordinates can be particular risk factors.

Further studies have shown that while envy and resentment may be motives for bullying, there is little evidence to suggest that bullies suffer from any deficit in self esteem (as this would make it difficult to bully). However, bullying can also be used as a tool to conceal and boost self esteem: by demeaning others, the abuser themselves feel empowered. And if this is what can happen to you from a living person just realize how bad it is if the person is invisible and long dead.

Researchers have identified other risk factors such as quickness to anger and use of force, addiction to aggressive behaviors, mistaking others' actions as hostile, concern with preserving self image, and engaging in obsessive or rigid actions. And as I stated earlier in this article who to say such behavior stops when a person dies. Bullying may also be "tradition carried over into the afterlife" in settings where a ghost feels superior to those that invade their territory.

Real everyday bullying can often be associated with street gangs, especially at school. Imagine what it would be like if bad ghost like in the Casper cartoons formed gangs and went out and purposely haunted and taunted the living? Lanier says, "Yes, this is possible and might explain many haunting's in large facilities as mental hospitals and a few abandoned prisons." But she says the proof is coming forward day by day, Lanier believes that many of the newly formed ghost hunting groups and weekend paranormal enthusiast might just be over investigating locations to the point where ghost might just band together to stop the living from haunting them. " I get many reports from business who say that haunting's in their establishments and even from home owners who say that they have been investigated many times that their haunting's have gotten worse."

There are literally hundreds of Internet sites regarding haunting's and sprits with thousands of pictures captured by people believing their photos show spirits and ghosts. Millions of stories related to haunting's and spirits abound and still the existence of spirits and ghosts can’t be scientifically proven. Unless it happens to you then you become a true believer.
