This photo was taken about 3 in the afternoon on Feb.2,2008
with a Cannon Power Shot S1Is 10x optical zoom camera. The location
is Bluebird Gap Farm, Hampton Virginia. A city owned farm for children.
It was formally owned by the Davis family of Hampton and a family
cemetery remains on the property.
I took the photo right after my grandson who will be three this month,
told his mother and I that he saw a lady in the woods.
I had been taking a photo of the graves and we were not talking about
ghost. We were simply looking around. Just out of no-where my grandson
pointed to the woods(behind us) and told us he wanted to go in there.
My daughter told them there was nothing in there, He pointed again
and she asked him if someone was in there..Yes he answered, Who we
asked. A lady he replied. I told him I did not see anyone and that
it must be a ghost if he was seeing someone. I ask him if it was a
ghost. Yes, he said. Where did she come from we asked..He pointed
to the sky. This is not the first time we have been near graveyards
to have my grandson suddenly started talking about seeing people that
we can't see. So on impulse I took a photo of the woods. When we got
home and I loaded my photos the image of the woman was the first thing
I saw in the photo. I quietly sat my grandson on my lap and asked
him where he saw the lady in the woods. He pointed right to the same
area of the photo that I was seeing the "ghost" in. I asked
him, what was the lady wearing.
Did she have on a dress or pants. A dress he said. I
then asked the length of the dress by using an example asking was
the dress up here (pointing to my mid thighs) or was it down here
(pointing to my shoes). Down here he said touching the ground..I ask
him what color it was, blue he replied. I said to him, you saw a lady
in a blue dress. Yep, he replied. Although I did not see the blue,
I clearly saw what he had described as far as the style of the dress.
It was not until about a week later when I examined the photo again
that I saw the second figure in it. To me it appears to be a man.
About six weeks later my daughter returned to the farm with my grandson
and my ex-husband. Almost as soon as they reached the area near the
graves he started talking about "the lady". My daughter
said he seemed see her again and he ran to several different areas
around the graves and woods stating she was there or there. He was
quite excited, and my ex who had seen the photos and heard the story
about the first visit took about 12 photos but nothing shows up in
them. My grandson was at my house last night when I came in from work
and as soon as I ask him if he saw the cows (his favorite) he said
yes and the "lady" I asked him if he saw the lady in the
same spot, yes he said. I asked him if the lady talked to him this
time and he said yes, What did she say I asked, he said That she liked
the water, and I said oh that is nice, then he said "She told
me she lived a long time ago" Since then (about a month ago)
my daughter and I took him back out there again. When we went to the
graves this time, he became very frightened and said that the "lady"
was there but that we could not go there. I went anyway to show him
not to be afraid and he became very upset and told me the lady would
hurt me and to come away. At that point I did leave. Later in the
day he told us he saw a Papa (his word for an older man). For appoximatly
20 minutes he played with and "talked" to something we could
not see. I have been back with my grandson on two different occasions
since this and becomes very upset when we try to go near the grave
site where the photo was taken. He said he does not "see"
anyone but is visably frightened. I feel that there is some kind of
paranormal activity going on, and plan to continue to visit without
him.
