Stories abound about the strange goings on at the Old Governor’s Mansion in Sacramento , California . Tales of seeing people looking out of the building late at night that suddenly disappear. We hear about objects being moved around on the premises when, and again, there is no one physically about. People in the area talk of hearing ‘partygoers’ inside the otherwise unoccupied building late at night, people talking and making loud sounds. Music is playing. When investigating, there is no one there less perhaps a living caretaker on the property. Strange to some, but not to GOLD RUSH GHOSTS PARANORMAL INVESTIGATIONS. Its’ just another day in the world of the strange, unknown, and lets find out. The Old California Governor’s Mansion, State Historical Landmark No. 823, has been around a long time and so has had many years to rack up experiences, happenings, and ghosts. It was originally built in 1877 for Albert Gallatin, a prominent businessman of the day. He enjoyed the mansion for the ten years he lived there, as well he should. It is such a large and lovely Victorian. Time passed however, and for whatever reason, in 1887 he sold the home to Joseph Steffens, father of author Lincoln Steffens. The State of California purchased the beautiful mansion in 1903 for $31,500 and a wing was added to accommodate the governor’s office. After the addition and new furnishings were brought in, the total cost of the building came to $56,000. Wouldn’t it be lovely if we could live in such lavish style today for that price? During the next 64 years until it retired as such, the building was to become the temporary home to the families of 12 governors, starting with Governor George Pardee, and including Earl Warren who later became Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Ronald Reagan pretty much ended the era when he and his family vacated the mansion in 1967. For whatever reasons given, it is told in her book that Nancy Reagan did not think it a fitting place for her family. Maybe she felt the building also included the eerie feeling of ghosts? We don’t know, but Hummmmm! Anyone psychic certainly would have! Today the Governor’s Mansion still has on display many of the personal items left behind by each family who resided here, and that could be what draws so many spirits back, or makes them reluctant to leave in the first place. Personally, if I had a history in this building, I would want to stay on also, so I can certainly see their point. It was during a visit to the mansion that I first saw two delightfully rambunctious spirit children, a girl with long blond hair in curls, and a boy as well, both about six years old, impish, and running upstairs over and over to slide down the banister. I pointed them out to Robert Reppert, the investigator with me from GOLD RUSH GHOSTS INTERNATIONAL PARANORMAL INVESTIGATIONS as our meters were brought to full attention. The energies associated with this encounter ranged in the high levels, from 3.5milligaus to 10.9milligauson the EMF meter. This is not surprising as what was in front of us was spirit kids with a lot of energy! Soon a stern man in a black jacket came out of an upstairs bedroom (he called it ‘the office’) and reprimanded them. The children paid him no mind or attention as they continued with their shenanigans. The man shook his head and yelled for ‘Molly’ to come do something with them. Molly was likely their governess. She showed up and took the kids by the hand leading them downstairs. He went back into this room and slammed the door behind him. So much for patience with kids. Tapping into such events is nothing new for GRG, we are the oldest and largest paranormal group in the world maintaining over a million dollars worth of the most up to date paranormal equipment in the world Our television show INVESTIGATING THE UNKNOWN WITH GOLD RUSH GHOSTS INTERNATIONAL PARANORMAL is touted at being “WHERE SCIENCE MEETS THE PARANORMAL”, eliminating all jokes, games and faulty reports exhibited by the few unscrupulous other paranormal groups that we and all real paranormal groups wish to weed out of the business. Unscrupulous media hound paranormal groups make a mockery of the press and a vulnerable public, not to mention the spirits that have so few to speak for them. On this day as always, we are looking for TRUTH and are following it up with PROOF. Energy comes in positive and negative, and as a psychic it is easy to pick up both while examining both yet knowing the difference. Negative energy comes in much harder, it is heavy, and makes one feel asthmatic. Positive energy is more etheric and easy flowing for a psychic. But lets’ get back to the investigation. “One governor’s wife did not like the building” a man on the property told us. He cuffed his hand over his mouth and said “The person I am speaking of was this person (showing us a photo). Maybe she thought it under her station and I am told she was quite bitchy about having to stay here.” This was not a psychic interpretation, something alleged as we had heard it from others who said they were in the know. However, psychic energy indicates that she was going to talk to the governor about it. I thought to myself, ‘I guess its’ possible that people get a little too spoiled sometimes, or maybe it was a security concern.’ However, that energy was easy to dismiss, and as we walked on I connected with a funeral. The ‘bump out’ that meets the curve at the top of the stairs I knew to be a ‘coffin turn’. They are often found in older multi-story buildings as it made it easier and more convenient to manipulate a coffin bearing a person who had died upstairs, down the stairs. I was able on this visit to observe from a psychic perspective just such an event happening, a beautifully shined wooden coffin being turned and exited down the remainder of the stairs. “They are taking it into the living room” I told the crew. “There is a woman crying behind it…” The kitchen was rather entertaining on this visit also, and it was easy to access the energy of two now deceased women who were part of the staff way back when. We watched them go about their business of preparing a meal. The FLIR was especially active, following non-living footprints as I watched the women go from one part of the kitchen to another. They had on starched white and blue aprons. They went about their job without a word to us, as one quickly scurried a puppy gently from the room. As she did so, she lightly tapped him on the head to indicate ‘no’. The little brown and white rascal was full of energy, piss and vinegar, and it was apparent he was quite loved, that was certain. In this room all the activity appeared to be light and ‘alive’, on the happier side of death. I had to laugh at the little puppy, now picked up by the children as they took it to the parlor, the little guy struggling to get out of their arms. It is undisputable that kids and animals go together. For us at GRG it is fun and enlightening to go back into history. Tooooo bad the mansion guides do not talk much of the ghosts that reside, but when asked, unofficially they gave us a smile of affirmation. How sad. Perhaps whoever makes the rules will lighten up and change their minds so their thoughts and experiences can be shared.… But you must not miss it. This is clearly a place to explore.
