Shadow people, shadow animals or a shadow ghost (also known as shadow spirits, black shadow ghosts, shadow figures, shadow beings, shadow men, or shadow folk) are believed by many to be supernatural shadow-like humanoid figures that, according to many rue believers, are seen mostly in their peripheral vision. They are commonly regarded in modern folklore and paranormal popular culture as malicious or evil spirits.

Demons, Aliens and Shadow Beings whether these black dark solid masses, or blurry black semi-transparent forms or beings are simply from another dimension or just vague remembrances of the long dead manifesting themselves to us, no one is quite 100% certain. Many often speculate or just hypothesize that the phenomena is definitely paranormal in nature or origin.
In recent years I have taken it upon myself to contact and question individuals around the world concerning their true real encounters with shadow people or ghost. Though many are afraid to come forward and tell their tales of these encounters a handful have given me insight into the phenomena that can only be describes as the most chilling haunted experience that one could ever imagine.
Many times in ones life we often catch a glimpse of some fleeting solid form darting just out of our line of sight. It so might startle us to think it is a real person or animal invading our home or lives. Then in a second the strange thing is gone we look hard to try to see what it was but then it is nothing you tell yourself. Many encounters with shadow forms or people are just that a minor encounter that passes us by. But still others have strange tales to tell that might be just to real to them to ignore.
Shadow ghost in photos often might be explained as just dirt or a smudge on the cameras lens. In many cases they are often though to be just a bug of some type flashing past the camera. Whether the photo is digital or on actual film developed prints. Though many of the shapes just appear as dark solid black or semi transparent blobs. In some cases the actual shadow shape might be that of a persons dark silhouette or distorted human form. Though many might consider the paranormal phenomena as a rare event, The fact is many dismiss the suspected black ghost shadow people, or dark spot in the image to readily.

Shadow People Encounters: Submitted Shadow People Ghost Photos
Several scientific principles have been used to explain reports of shadow people experiencing including optical illusions or hallucinations brought on by physiological/psychological circumstances, drug use or side effects of medication, and the interaction of external agents on the human body. But many who see these forms or have experienced them once in their lives describe them as being very solid real three dimensional shapes. The same applies for the images captured in photos, Though many tend to believe in viewing such that their is an obvious normal solution to explain the photo anomaly, or that the image was staged or faked..
Many real accounts often tell that in seeing these shadow ghost with ones own eyes as they appear only out of the corner of ones eye, often just darting out of view when you turn to look straight at them. Their are also accounts of those that watch these strange beings for several moments as they go about their business. An account recently related to me through an email, described how the person witnessed a figure of a dark black shadow specter that slowly walk about their room. It peered at them with a black three dimensional face turned away from them then climb their tall length of 12 foot metal mini venetian blinds. The blinds they told me actually parted where the black shapes hands and feet made contact as it scurried uninhibited up them and disappeared into the ceiling. And this they related happened in broad daylight on more then one occasion.

In many cases often through investigation of the shadow ghost phenomena shadows are are often though or categorized as a type of inter-dimensional being. Those cases where the being often might physically react with the living is what the claims are based upon.
Shadow people are typically described as a moving black mass, often humanoid silhouettes with no discernible mouths, noses, or facial expressions; child-sized humanoids; or shapeless masses that sometimes change to human like form and featuring eyes that are either glowing or not discernable.
Sherry G. of Jamaica, New York tells the tale of how a shadow ghost in a long cloak came into her bedroom and ripped a lock of hair from her head one night. This happened in the winter of 2009 as she and her husband of 8 years just settled to lay in their bed after getting their kids to bed for the night. Both husband and wife were 100% wide awake as this strange huge dark thing or shadow being entered the room through a small crack.
Sherry tells that the room was certainly dark, but this even darker strange black mist thing, (a solid form of pitch black mass crept in through a crack in a door jam) and took human form as she and her husband watched in awe. The thing moved closer as she sat their frozen and a black hand grabbed her head and pulled a lock of hair from her head.
Panicked and in great direst she tried to contact professional help including Scify's plumbing Ghost Hunters. Several groups of paranormal investigators have interviewed in the recent years her and her family as well as thoroughly investigated her home, but nothing concrete has ever been documented until she took this photo in March of 2011.
"Shadow people ghost do haunt my very haunted New York home," states a seriously worried Sherry G. in her email to me with this strange submitted accompanying anomalous photo (above . "Though many paranormal investigators have not documented any type of paranormal phenomena or anomalies, I know my home is very haunted!"
"Though these creatures or shadow ghost are not here on a full time regular basis," states Sherry. "They seem or tend to come and go on their own accord." "We have had several groups of ghost hunters and so called paranormal experts camp out in our home for weeks at a time and nothing occurs." "Then they leave to go over their documentation and return to tell us that there is no evidence that anything supernatural is going on here, That's when something black creeps into my families life once again."
The Parker family visited Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in the month of August 2010 and took this strange photo. They thought nothing of it until they heard the tale of shadow people on a radio program.
Gary Davis of Miami, Florida sends us this strange image of what he calls the shadow Lady. "I have seen this thing many times since I was a child of 9." Tells Davis. "But this is the first time I have captured it on film." " It makes me glad to see it on film finally because it proves to me that this shadow ghost is very real, but then again it scares me to no end." "This thing has been frightening me for many years." "I have told no one this until now, that is since I have my real proof."

A shadow is an area where direct light from a light source cannot reach due to obstruction by an object. It occupies all of the space behind an opaque object with light in front of it. The cross section of a shadow is a two-dimensional silhouette, or reverse projection of the object blocking the light. The sun causes many objects to have shadows and at certain times of the day, when the sun is at certain heights, the length of shadows change.
An unattended wandering or lost shadow or shade was thought by some cultures to be similar to that of a ghost. It is also believed as an alternative construct that shadows are in fact a representation of God's presence around an object; like a halo. Early eastern beliefs also play to this theory.
Shadow People Encounters And Real Tales Of Terror From Around The World
There are as of late many cases surfacing where individuals state that they have been touched, spoken to and have in rare instances even have been sexually molested by these very solid paranormal beings.
Paranormal researcher Heidi Hollis http://www.heidihollis.com discussed on Shadow People on Coast To Coast AM 07-23-08 Host: George Noory and provided new information on the "Hat Man," a form of evil incarnate. In discussing her research into Shadow People, she said the phenomenon can take many forms, including "big, hairy, shadowy spiders," cats, streaks, clouds, or instances where "a head is directly connected to a set of broad shoulders and, at times, you can see red glowing eyes." Hollis noted that she has received numerous reports of malevolent Shadow People, saying "the most common physical contact that these Shadow People do to people is jump on their chest and choke them."
Hollis also talked about the "Hat Man," a being that she originally had thought was another incarnation of the Shadow People, but was overwhelmed with letters from people insisting that it was solid. She described the creature as having "a Zorro-type hat. He wears a three piece suit and a cape or a long trench coat." Other attributes ascribed to the "Hat Man" included occasionally wearing a watch that dangled from his hip, having either a goatee or being clean shaven, and possessing glowing red or solid black eyes.
Based on her correspondence with witnesses to the "Hat Man," Hollis speculated that the being is the Devil. She recounted a story from a soldier, stationed at a haunted base in Germany, who saw the "Hat Man" in his mirror. The soldier asked who he was and it responded, "I'm Scratch." Hollis explained that "Scratch" was an old term used for the Devil. She also told the story of a man who had attempted suicide and woke up in the hospital to find the "Hat Man" sitting at his bedside. Rosemary Ellen Guiley in 2006 was engaged in data collecting on the Shadow People phenomenon and has divided incidents into two categories. The first is a bedtime/nighttime visitor, usually not harmful, that appears to enter through the sleeping state of consciousness.
The second type is a more ghost-like apparition, seen often peripherally, flitting around corners or on stairs. Interestingly, she suggested that we might manifest as Shadow People to beings in other realms.
Interaction with shadow people phenomena is often scoffed at by many avid paranormal investigators and enthusiast as merely paranormal phenomena associated with the standards of normal ghost haunting's. Though today many well established experts seem to believe that these shadow things are more a anomalous phenomena that is similar to ghost haunting's. but not connected in any form.
According to her research, there are different types of Shadow People. Most common are the "bedroom visitors," but some entities are seen as merely flat shadows moving along a wall and through a room as if they were on a specific track. She speculated Shadow People could be "bleed-throughs" from another reality who are not even aware of us. Guiley also commented on what she sees as a rise in demonic or negative haunting's. The darkness of the 9-11 event may have created a rift in the time-space continuum allowing more negative entities to come through, she theorized.
When questioning some investigators at many paranormal conventions, they believe and will state that they are the true demons, or fallen angels of hell. As often others state that they are just dimensional forms from a parallel universe. The most common thoughts put forth are that they are actually aliens from another distant world observing us. Even stranger is the belief is the presumed assumption that these shadow beings or time travelers or merely the assumed image of a persons astral body does boggle the mind. Though no apparent real confirmed evidence disputes or solidifies any of these claims.
Images seen in peripheral areas of vision can be caused by pareidolia, a condition in which the brain incorrectly interprets random patterns of light/shadow or texture as being familiar patterns such as faces and human forms.

Many might equate the shadow people phenomena as just a common ghost haunting. Though many things tend to differ in these encounters as compared to a standard haunting.
Shadow people in many encounters seem to be actual solid forms and often move objects or effect things around them. Many have described witnessing these solid black masses open doors, knock over solid objects and even steal something personal from a home or business. Many reports of jewelry being taken from a persons body have been reported.
Kathy L. a 28 year old resident of Jersey City, New Jersey tells the terrifying story of how a dark very solid entity or shadow person came into her room one night and ripped her earrings from her ears.
As Kathy laid in her bed just falling asleep her door opened with a jerk. In walked a male figure totally black and large. Kathy states that she could feel the things breath on her face as it leaned over her. it's cold hands then grabbed her head and pushed back her hair violently. "The thing tore them from my lobes as I lay there frozen in fear!" states Kathy. " The pain was terrible and I bled profusely, in seconds it ran with a loud thud to a blank wall and disappeared." " I never found my earrings nor did anyone believe me." "But my ripped earlobes is all the proof I have."
Mike D. of CHAMPAIGN, Illinois, relates his horrifying personal story of how a shadow person actually spoke to him and predicted the future.
"Sitting alone one late night in my home a dark shadow form appeared before me." "The thing came into the house as a thick black mist through a cracked glass in window pane." The black dark mist traveled slowly across the floor then rose up suddenly and turned into the definitive shape of a person." " I could see two red fire like eyes and spoke to me in a gravely deep mans voice."
"Startled and frightened I sat frightened horrified as it told me that my mother would die the next day and my father also would pass in a few days time after her." "The thing then came very very close to me and with a terrible stench of a breath." "Just a few inches from my face as I peered into the strange blackness shaking with great terror, and only I saw the two large pupils of its red eyes glowing, it said directly into my face as I felt it's hard breath hit my face." "Beware of the flood!" "The thing then turned with a furious jerk and moved rapidly to the window where it dissipated and seemed to be sucked back through the tiny glass crack." "My mother did die and days later so did my father." "And both from medical conditions that they had had for years." I am still awaiting the flood it foretold of, and certainly it frightens to me think that this really happened to me." "Though no one it seems really believes me."
Kevin B. of Liverpool UK, tells of childhood fears of how his closet door would creek and slowly open at this point a black shadow hand would spring from the cracks ajar darkness and jiggle the door knob. Being only a child of 6-7 he would scream in fear and call out to his Mum and Dad for help. The problem stopped when the family moved to Blackpool until he was 17 years of age. One night as he peered into his dark room he saw the darkness in his open closet begin to darken in slow degrees.
Over the next few months the shadows turned into various shapes. Kevin described these otherworldly beings as becoming everything from animals, to people and sometimes terrible monsters that even made sounds that chilled him to the bone.
The shadow creatures actually touched him with what he tells were solid hands. In observing these creatures he states the blackness is deeply intense and moving particles of what he described as black fast moving dust particles in large clusters.
Margareta S. of Sweden relates the tale of how as a child she always saw shadow animals. Most often shadow black cats in home her family lived in. Her family often heard them clawing on their furniture and only caught glimpses of them through the corner of their eye. Thug the physical damage they cause to their expensive furniture was nothing to laugh at. Their home actually smelled heavily of cat urine, and upholstered furniture was often torn to shreds. Though the family never owned a cat of any type or other pets.
Margareta's mother told her that this phenomena had followed her and other members of her family for many years. She called it the curse of the Shadow Cats and often at family gatherings other members of the family would relate their ongoing problems with these shadow felines disturbing their lives.
Guilherme B. of Brazil strange case of shadow people ghost physically molesting him and his family began when he was 22 years of age. They had just moved into a new home when they noticed long dark snake like shadows moving in the darkness. His mother had the house formally blessed and that's when the problems began to escalate to such a degree that they abandoned the home after only living here for 3 months.
Guilherme tells tales of awful experience of these shadow beings beating his mother unmercifully, and actually strangling the families 2 dogs before his eyes.
Attempts to apply modern scientific or investigative standards to the study of apparitional experiences began with the work of Edmund Gurney, Frederick William Henry Myers and Frank Podmore , who were leading figures in the early years of the Society for Psychical Research.
Their motive, as with most of the early work of the Society, was to provide evidence for human survival after death. For this reason they had a particular interest in what are known as ‘crisis cases’. These are cases in which a person has a quasi-perceptual experience of someone at a distance at the time of that person’s death or other crisis. If the temporal coincidence of the crisis and the distant apparitional experience cannot be explained by any conventional means, then the presumption is made that some as yet unknown form of communication, such as telepathy (a term coined by Myers) has taken place.
While the extent to which the work of Gurney and his colleagues succeeded in providing evidence for either telepathy or survival of death is still controversial, the large collection of firsthand written accounts which resulted from their painstaking methods still constitutes a body of valuable data concerning the phenomenology of hallucinations in the sane.
Beatriz a 29 year old woman from Portugal tells of her frightening encounters with shadow men actually physically forcing her to have sex with them. "And these shadow beings would attack me in broad daylight." Two maybe three would appear no matter where I was." The would forcibly hold me down or push me against a wall and have actual sexual intercourse with me." States Beatriz.
These violent paranormal sexual attacks she described often left large busies where the shadow ghost had beaten her. Hair was ripped from her head, clothes torn and a few front teeth knocked from her mouth. And many times she was found unconscious by family and co workers.
Her sexual encounters with these ghosts were witnessed by family friends and even a priest who it is said tried to exorcise the shadow ghost from her life. We must note here that many of her horrible encounters happened in broad daylight. Though no public documentation of these horrid shadow ghosts encounters has surfaced, her close family members often tell her story to anyone who will listen. This is in hopes of someone explaining the phenomena to them more fully.
Beatriz encounters with these evil sexual predator black shadow people ghost only stopped when she took her solemn vows and joined a convent. Though her story is what many say a continuing growing trend as individuals slowly come forward around the world with these types of claims.
Shadow People as we can surmise do haunt home buildings and and individuals. Though such claims or often written of as folly or ramblings of sick minds there of course are individuals that are truly afraid that these dark entities that do plague them day and night.
Their have been as noted many people who have publically and openly claimed to have had actual sexual encounters with ghosts. Many tell that thes entities "shadow people, ghosts, shadowpeople, phantasm, ultra-dimensional beings" have actually had sexual encounters.
Many paranormal investigators and researchers tend to label these individuals encounters as haveing been associated with succubus on incubus encounters or attacks. Though no solid proff exist to differ such a distintion. Real physical sex with ghost phenomena is nothing new. though it has just in recent years come to the forefront of paranormal investigative work. In a BBC article from June of 2001.
Fear has struck residents of the Zanzibar Islands after rumours of the re-emergence of a sexually voracious ghost that attacks people while they sleep in their beds at night.
Many Zanzibaris are now refusing to sleep in their houses as they believe it only preys on people in the comfort of their own beds. The ghost or genie goes by the name of Popo Bawa and people believe that it sodomises its victims, most of whom are men.
In recent years the residents on the semi-autonomous Tanzanian islands claimed that Popo Bawa only visited the islanders during voting, such as in the contentious general elections in 1995 and 2000. But to the surprise of many this current ghost has reappeared when there is no polling of any kind. Smoke and smells In the latest panic, he is said to be striking in the north of Zanzibar island as well as in central Pemba. Zanzibar has semi-autonomous status People claim his presence in a house is revealed by an acrid smell and a puff of smoke. Victims then speak of being in a trance or dreamlike state as they are molested.

Hamisi, 22, through an email tells me his personal story of how this, Shadow man a Popo Bawa appeared in his home and attacked his father.
"The tall man shadow slid in to the home through under the door before my eyes it stood up and transformed into a shadow man." Stated Hamisi.
The shadow was a very black form at first then became three dimensional and highly defined as it moved in the room and he called for help in fear. His father awoke came into his room and was thrown down to the hard floor and sodomized brutally before his eyes.
Another case from Ontario, Canada was told to me by Liliana R. about how for many years she was sexually molested by a shadow that followed her from where ever her family lived. Though she says no one knew of her plight except for her friend who witnessed the shadow man that haunted her on a sleep over one night.
"The shadow ghost would appear every so often in the past accompanied by a fetid smell right before it appeared" Stated Liliana. "It's body was very real and solid and hot to the touch." "when the encounters were over the shadow man would move to a dark corner of the room and disappear." And these encounters would occur day and night."
She told her mother of these strange encounters and she would say each time for others to believe that people can have sex with a ghost are out of their minds and probably need medical help.
The shadow person or ghost often would bite Lilliana on the back and on her neck and teeth marks were documented she stated in her correspondences with me.
Many people around the world express their their fears to others about such encounters with shadow ghost. Though written off as crazed individuals some of their problems may be psychological. But of the percentage of individuals that do come forward with tales of sex with ghost or shadow people 1 in a hundred 1000 might be the definitive case that proves to the world that such encounters are very real.
