So you have decidedly realized you are being personally haunted by real ghost or entity and need proof that your not just hallucinating or going nuts. And now you need to find a reputable paranormal investigation team because your emails to TAPS have gone unanswered and they have no group or affiliate in your area that can verify your personal conclusions.
So now you try the internet and find several teams and their web sites that state they are the best and most professional.
So how do you choose the one that's right for you?
Many ghost hunting teams seem to be investigating ghosts for the fun of it. And it so seems some groups act very professional as others to only imitate the great Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson. But in truth you don't know what your letting yourself in for unless you asks questions and do a little investigating of your own.
And yes there are many things one should and must realize if you have a paranormal team over to investigate the ghost that are haunting you. I have heard horror stories of people getting robbed in hours days or months after being investigated by supposed ghost hunting teams unsavory members.
Also I hear of many tales of terror by the those that have had bad or worse haunted experiences after an investigation has taken place. And at times all because the home or property was invalidly investigated by some novices who had no clue to what they were doing. And possibly agitated the ghosts to the point of personal retaliation against you.
Ghost Hunting Rules For The Common Man
* Exercise restraint and common sense when meeting a ghost hunters for the first time. Ask questions and pay attention.
Never just offer up your home or personal haunted life;s story to a person you don't know or need not trust.
Remember your interviewing them to see if their services or worthy of your attention.
And most of all never agree to anything on a hand shake or a verbal agreement get all in writing.
*All real ghost hunting teams should present you with some type of waiver or agreement in writing before a actual real investigation begins. And if not, then they are less the respectable.
Also ask them if a lawyer can look at the agreement to ghost hunt your home and to be able to receive copies of all documentation before you sign it, and ask if it can be notarized for your protection and theirs with witnesses;s.
If a ghost hunting team refuse or presents you with no such paper work then you know they are not on the up and up.
* Ask questions and ask to see documentation and actual written references of their past paranormal investigations.
You also have the right to contact past investigated persons and ask their opinions before making any agreements.
* Never engage the services of a practicing ghost hunter who wants to meet you in a parking lot.
Reputable people meet in reputable places. If a ghost hunting team does not have an office as TAPS does.
So then an invite to the teams leaders home is recommended. When meeting these ghost or Paranormal Teams one should get to know that they are people too. Ghost hunting is not a profession it is a hobby and most ghost Hunters hold down day jobs.
Learn as much as you can about the team leader and realize from meeting them their family or hearing about their personal interest is all part of trusting this person to investigate your home and you.
Many teams actually will do a background check on the haunted individual before they to will consider your haunted case for investigation.
And as for as we know there is also the flip side of the coin where known criminals have gone to the the paranormal teams homes and robbed them as they investigate their haunted house.
As a real haunted individual you should never leave your home open to strangers you should be present at all times and able to go along for the evidence gathering.
* Don't ever pay for a supposed or real PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION. No one to this date has ever paid for services of having their home or property investigated. Nor should someone be held hostage to the fact that ghosts can only leave your home if you pay them a fee.
* Ask for credible records about the team and it's current and past members. and if you feel so inclined contact them and ask more questions. One should never just visit a paranormal investigations teams web site and believe all the hype.
I personally recommend even to call local state and government law enforcement agency's to see if any reports are associated with the group or it's members. One can also do their own personal background checks on individuals through sites like, www.intelius.com. People Search reports include phone numbers, address history, ages, birthdates, household members, home value, income and arrest records.
Always do you home work when researching the team or person you will allow into your haunted house and life.
* Always consider what will be done with the evidence or your ghost filled story when it's over.
Will it end up in a book or a youtube?
Will your privacy be violated?
Do not sign away your rights. Make sure in any or all agreements with a paranormal team that you can have your privacy and if a team violates that that you will bring them to court.
*Ask for waivers of responsibility straight off the bat. and or legitimate documentation signing before you allow anyone into your home, building or on your property to hunt for real ghosts.
You should not be responsible for their personal health risks or well being or liable for their possible injuries.
*If the ghost hunting team asks you to leave the premises while they ghost hunt then you should shut down the investigation immediately.
It is your right to see evaluate and understand all that they do.
*Remember you have the rights to shut down a ghost hunt at anytime and this should be included in your documentation before you allow them to enter your property.

How can you say ghost exist unless you try to experience it yourself? If you are not willing to try, then you have no factual basis for your conclusion. To put this another way, don't decide it before you try it. All beliefs come from a experience. Many believe people for their word, others not so trusting simply need to be shown. And still more do not believe what they see even if it shoved in their face.
