I believe that Chris Cagle - Chicks Dig It, sums up the real reason we are just so fascinated with these real hot haunted hunks of ghost filled reality TV.
It seems that the everyone on earth is openly admitted and into ghost hunting today. That is from the most respectable of people to the reality haunted famous stars we love to research on line. They also draw much-coveted younger viewers, and lean slightly more female than male (a difficult demographic to draw for most cable networks not explicitly targeting women)
With hot television shows that feature real celebrity ghost stories to our favorite hunks of the reality ghost hunting genre Jason and Grant and of course Steve Gonzalves, Robb Demarest, Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin. Many women drool over these brave ghost haunted hunks we watch each week.
Chat rooms, blogs, forums, Twitter, Myspace, Facebook and most seem to be filled with adoring female fans that often out spokenly have something to say about how they see these guys other then just as the average haunted Joe.
I guess we all love to watch as these daring men dare to go where no one else will and face the horrors of the paranomal world.

Ghost Hunters is an American paranormal reality television series that premiered on October 6, 2004 on Syfy (previously the Sci Fi Channel). The program features paranormal investigators Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson who investigate places that are reported to be haunted. The two originally worked as plumbers for Roto-Rooter as a day job while investigating locations at night. Since the show's success, the series now takes precedence in their lives, but they are still honorary employees with the company and continue to do jobs for them if time permits. The show should not be confused with the original 1996 Inca Productions show Ghosthunters produced for the Discovery Channel. The format was sold to Pilgrim Films & Television in the United States to become Ghost Hunters. The only link between the two shows is presenter Ian Cashmore who anchored the UK/Europe show. Cashmore piloted the U.S. show, but chose not to remain part of the U.S. venture after he filmed the promos.
Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, along with other team members who belong to the group they founded, The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS), investigate locations of interest by using various electronic equipment which they believe is capable of detecting paranormal activity. When investigating a location, TAPS team members first survey the property with its owners, who describe their experiences at the site. Next, the team sets up electronic equipment in the apparent paranormal "hotspots." The TAPS team then spends several hours taking electromagnetic field and temperature readings, recording audio for electronic voice phenomena (EVPs), and filming with digital video cameras. Many times, they will even try to verbally coax the "ghosts" into responding, while recording. Afterwards, the team spends several hours analyzing all of the data for signs of possible paranormal activity. A few days after reviewing the information, Hawes and Wilson discuss their findings with the location site owners, offer suggestions for dealing with any apparent activity, and answer any questions the owners may have. TAPS state they do not believe every piece of evidence gathered is proof of the paranormal. To lend credibility to their investigations, the team tries to debunk what they find and look for reasonable explanations for things such as "cold spots" (that may be drafty windows), "moving objects" (that may have been accidentally bumped or tugged), "phantom lights" (that may be reflections of light from a passing vehicle), and "strange noises" (that may be a thumping branch or vermin in the walls). Since the show began airing, TAPS has recorded thousands of hours of audio and video data. Most investigations, according to TAPS, turn up cold with very little, if any, paranormal activity occurring. The ghost hunters claim to have several good recordings of strange mists, odd lights, moving objects, and shadowy figures that manifest before the camera and are highlighted at the end of the show. Syfy categorizes the show as a docu-soap. In addition to the investigative aspect, the show highlights personal conflicts and relationships among members of the TAPS team. Portions of some episodes portray Jason and Grant involved with their plumbing job or personal lives, but this varies by episode and is not always included. As the series has progressed the "behind the scenes" and "docu-soap" aspects have been reduced and the 5th season (currently airing as of September 2009) has so far focused primarily on the investigations with virtually none of the docu-soap material that characterized early episodes.
Accusations of faking evidence Following the seven-hour long, live Halloween show on October 31, 2008 at least two events took place that critics have attacked: One is where Grant Wilson, a lead investigator, has his jacket collar pulled down by an unseen force three times; all the while one of his hands remained at his side, which led detractors to claim he was pulling a hidden string. Another is when a supposed disembodied voice tells the hunters, "You're not supposed to be here." Critics have claimed the voice sounded like it was piped in from an external audio source. Video of the incidents has been meticulously scrutinized on various websites. In regards to the scrutiny, Grant and Jason defended themselves, stating that they are accused of faking evidence all the time, and maintained that everything in the show is real.On November 11, 2009, former Ghost Hunters cast member Donna LaCroix appeared as a guest on the internet paranormal radio show Ghost Divas where she addressed rumors of a staging crew saying only that she experienced suspicious activity going on during investigations. Because of possible legal repercussions, she did not discuss the specific details of these events, but she did reveal that she had been directed to "act" in certain scenes. She also claimed to be upset over how she and fellow investigators Brian Harnois and Andy Andrews were treated by producers, especially over contract terms.
NBC announced on December 18, 2008 that there will be a sixth season of Ghost Hunters in 2010.

(abbreviated as GHI) is a spin-off series of Ghost Hunters that airs on Syfy. The series premiered on January 9, 2008. Like its parent series, GHI is a reality series that follows a team of paranormal investigators; whereas, the original series primarily covered only locations within the United States, the GHI team travels around the world and documents some of the world's most legendary haunted locations. In January 2009, GHI began broadcasting in HDTV.

Ghost Hunters Academy On October 23, 2008, TV Guide reported that Syfy will launch a spin-off of the show called Ghost Hunters: College Edition, which will feature co-eds in the ghost hunter roles. The name was later revealed to be Ghost Hunters Academy and began airing November 11, 2009. The series features Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango leading a group of college students through various ghost-hunting investigations.
Paranormal State is a docudrama reality television series for A&E about a student-led college club, the Pennsylvania State University Paranormal Research Society. The show depicts the students' investigations of paranormal activity and supernatural phenomena.
The show is produced by Four Seasons Productions International and Go Go Luckey Productions (which produced MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County, and A&E's now-cancelled Rollergirls). Gary Auerbach and Julie Auerbach (who head Go Go Luckey Productions) and Betsy Schechter (Four Seasons) are the executive producers.[2][3] The show was tentatively titled "Out There," "Dead Time" and "Paranormal U" before being called "Paranormal State." Every episode of the show is outlined by the production team first, co-executive producer Tina Gazzerro has stated, to ensure that a producible episode will result. "We try to identify where we get our discovery moments, our 'Ah-ha!' moments," Gazzerro told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Information about the event under investigation may also be held back from the students in order to create dramatic tension, and only situations which will have a conclusive outcome are investigated. "We may have information we don't give to [the PRS team]," Gazzerro said, "but we need to make sure [the episode is] produceable." Story arcs are also outlined for each "character" on the show, and the production team has publicly expressed its hope that a romantic relationship will develop between the research team leader Ryan Buell and one of the women on the series. The production team and the show's researchers say that no pressure is put on the research team to act in certain ways or make paranormal discoveries.A&E had high hopes for the new series. Cable television reality shows about the paranormal require only about a quarter of the budget of a scripted show of the same length. Fourteen half-hour episodes were ordered for the first season. A&E upped that order to 20 shows after seeing the pilot and the first few episodes. Had the show not been picked up by A&E, Buell said he had another series deal in the works with the Auerbachs and their production company. The show was initially scheduled to debut in May or June 2007, but was pushed back to December 2007 (although no reasons were reported). The show debuted on December 10, 2007, with 2.5 million viewers watching the first two back-to-back episodes, making it the third-most watched show on A&E since 2004. The cable network reported that this included 1.6 million people aged 18 to 49 (a highly coveted demographic by broadcasters and advertisers). It also included 1.5 million viewers in the 25-to-54 age range, A&E's target demographic. The show's second season began on July 28, 2008 on A&E; its third season, on January 19, 2009 on the same channel. The fourth season premiered on December 15, 2009 on A&E.
As of January 3, 2008, Ryan Buell claims the demonic entity is no longer following him. In a Q&A section of the Penn State Paranormal Research Society's forums, he responded to a question on the topic by stating, "I haven't been troubled by any bunnies (the PRS calls demons "bunnies") as of late. There came a point in my life where I let go of some of that baggage. When it comes to that whole side, there's a back story that involves my group dealing with a case three years ago. I kind of reached a resolution with that. Coincidentally, the bunny tried to make another cameo appearance when we were filming the final investigation of the season, but we just told it to go to you-know-where. I hope it makes the cut!". Controversies Paranormal State has been the subject of several controversies such as whether the show is depicting real or faked paranormal activity, and whether the show is documentary or scripted entertainment. In the episode entitled "School House Haunting," which first aired on January 28, 2008 the "client" whose home the team investigated was Shannon Sylvia, a cast member of another paranormal show, Ghost Hunters International. On January 29, 2008, Ryan Buell posted an entry to his blog on the Official Penn State Paranormal Research Society website concerning his view of psychics and, in particular, the inclusion of psychic Chip Coffey on the show. In the comment section of the blog, several people questioned Sylvia's inclusion in the series, asking why a high-profile paranormal investigator would hire the Penn State Paranormal Research Society to investigate her property when she essentially has a team of her own. Later on she declared members of TAPS as well as other high profile investigators have indeed investigated her home and were pleased with the EVP results. Though, in his blog, Buell mentions that it was his visit which brought her into the study of the supernatural as an investigator herself. There has also been some speculation as to the fabrication of entire episodes on the website GhostTheory, after a family that appeared on the show came forward to voice their experiences working with the cast members. The web site Paranormal State Illustrated dissects scenes and has pointed out fabrications, falsifications and misinformation presented on the show.
Paranormal Cops is an American paranormal reality television series that will premiere on January 19, 2010 on A&E. The program is produced by NorthSouth Productions for A&E. It follows the Chicago Paranormal Detectives as they fight crime by day and hunt for paranormal happenings by night. This show is currently in production.

The Sci-Fi Channel presented 4Reel's Ghost Adventures on July 25, 2007. The documentary centers on the trio's investigation of alleged paranormal activity in and around Virginia City, Nevada, which the crew returned to on the third season of the series, and in Goldfield, Nevada.
