Often we that explore the unknown on a daily basis will come up with a ‘dry spell’ wondering where the next adventure will take us. And it was just such a day that a client of mine called me and wanted to discuss something he had experienced at the San Diego , California airport a few days ago. Seems he saw children being unruly, running through the chairs and stations, and he was quite put off thinking he would NEVER allow his own kids to act that way. On his way to a business trip, he put his laptop down and started looking for the delinquent parents, meaning to give them a piece of his mind. As he was looking around, the children disappeared before his eyes. Startled, he looked all around, and the children were nowhere, and apparently everyone around him had not been bothered by them as they continued reading, eating, and conversing. Not wanting to make a fool of himself by asking if anyone else had seen them, he sat back down and quietly waited for his flight to be called. AND he wrote to GOLD RUSH GHOSTS INTERNATIONAL PARANORMAL. I intercepted that email. And, I had the answer for him!
An often overlooked opportunity to ghost hunt is airports. All across the world stories filter in to me about the strange and unknown things going on at airports. And it would seem to me to be a natural place for ghost hunters to look for phenomena, as there are people coming and going all the time. This type of activity cannot help but have the results of corrupt energy, there are so many emotions going on, changes, reflection, laughter, tears, disasters, anxious moments, and of course, the memory of airline crashes and the inevitable coffin on occasion being loaded in cargo going to their final destination. Airports, as are train stops, busses, and other places that offer travel to the masses are a gold mine for the die (pun intended) hard investigator!
International airports are busy places and one may need to crave to get your attention. The last thing on anybody’s mind will be that such place can be a haunted place too. It seems so with the newly installed Bangalore International airport at Devanahalli. Starting from passsengers to Airlines operator, nobody is happy with the new airport and wanted the HAL airport to remain open atleast for domestic traffic. So now they have company in the form of non earthly creatures! Yes, it seems for sometimes a ghost is haunting the new airport. Some of the employees has seen the ghost around the cargo area of the airport. It is in news that this has send chill waves among the employess in the night shift there. Take it now, even non-earthly creatures are also not happy with the new airport being built there. Rumor mills are abuzz that ghost are seen running at the runway! I hope BIAL do not implement ghost surcharge now.
If you do not see anybody at the airport, you may still have company. So be careful is the buzz word.
Ghost in Dubai airport
Stories abound of well known airport ghosts around the world and I would like to take you to a few of them that have been reported to us over the years. For every one ghost or spirit you find at an airport, you would be a reasonable person to assume the next trip you take could encounter another. You can be certain because of the numbers of people that pass through there could easily be hundreds of ghosts and spirits that are simply waiting to be discovered, talked to, or encountered. Here are some of my favorites.
THE SACRAMENTO CALIFORNIA AIRPORT
Old Mr. Tibble is told to be residing at the Sacramento, California Airport. Mr. Tibble died October 5,1982 of a heart attack. It is not known if he died in the waiting area at the airport as he waited for his oversea flight, or at a hotel nearby waiting to be picked up to go to the airport. But he has been encountered in the waiting area of a well known airline as he waits for his oversea flight. Stories told said that when his flight to England was called he did not answer, and the flight left without him. His body lay seemingly asleep through two crew changes until a flight customer asked him to wake up, and give his seat over to a woman with a small child. He fell to the floor. Apparently Old Mr. Tibble’s spirit has been there ever since. The same flight that was to take him home, just a few days later, shipped his body to his relatives. But Old Mr. Tibble’s ghost remains at the airport. So you know what he looks like he is a heavy bald man with an attaché case at his feet. He is always seen asleep in a second row of seats. But don’t wake him he appears to be quite comfortable there.
THE SAN DIEGO CALIFORNIA AIRPORT
On September 25th, 1978 there was a terrible crash near the San Diego Airport that took the lives of many. The Pacific Southwest Airliner (PSA) Flight 182 (Boeing 747-214) commercial airliner collided over San Diego with a private Cessna 172. Death toll of resulted in the deadliest aircraft disaster in California history to date. Everyone on board the PSA airliner died, (135 people) the 2 people in the Cessna, and 7 people on the ground. Make shift hangers at the airport were used for refrigeration and body storage until body parts could be identified, and people could retrieve their loved ones. Certainly the ghostly remains of many of those that suffered this tragedy have impacted the airport through changes and upgrades to it. Look, and listen, especially when the airport is quiet.
THE SAN DIEGO CALIFORNIA AIRPORT
To GOLD RUSH GHOSTS the San Diego California Airport is likely one of the most haunted in all our travels. The most annoying of all the ghosts and spirits would be the children that run through the place, unaware that they are disrupting the waiting, some with mothers and fathers in direct pursuit, and others running amuck without supervision.
There have been stories about teenagers and elderly folks in spirit still trying to get home. Most significant is the woman who asks for the time. She is seen at all times of the day and night. She has been called ‘Mary the dead woman’, and she races through the halls as if late for her flight.
The old ticket taker in the old English costume has no patience for anyone who does not follow the rules. He follows you around, asking for your ticket. He has been called Max, and you will see him as you board a plane. Also, there was a homeless man, a peddler, who lived inside the airport. He was kicked out of the building in the dead of winter when discovered, believing he was harassing the passengers. He died of frostbite and elements. You can see him sleeping on the bench outside.
WASHINGTON D.C. AIRPORT
A few years back we are told that a World War 11 B-24 Bomber was baffling employees at it tried to land at the airport. So strange we were told it was, on occasion it could be detected on radar. The bomber, identified with a crew of nine, seemed to continuously try and come in to land. However, from the call letters on the side, it went down 380 miles south of Bengazi where it took off from a Libyan base for a bombing raid on Naples , Italy many, many years ago. Check it out and see if you can find anything out. Guess it just wants to land SOMEWHERE!
WIESBADEN GERMANY
The same crew as above is said to be trying to land here also.
KENNEDY AIRPORT – NEW YORK
The crew of a downed 1997 airplane, along with their passengers gleefully arrive daily around 2 pm to wave and greet the crowd. Those who can see them say they appear happy.
Heathrow International Airport in England is indeed a very busy place.
Is this the real Heathrow Airport ghost? This reported real ghost photo image was sent to us by Cecila Henderson.
This excerpt is taken from “WHERE DEAD MEN WALK” by Patty A. Wilson and published by Piney Creek Press.
Nowhere in the world is there more hustle and bustle than at this huge airport. It is, therefore, very interesting that such a busy place is the home of several hauntings and, more importantly, so haunted that folks actually notice the ghosts.
Perhaps the oldest spirit at Heathrow actually pre-dates the airport being built. The spirit of legendary highwayman Dick Turpin has been seen.
Turpin was a popular highwayman during the 1730's in England. He robbed, stole livestock and murdered for more than twelve years before he was hung 1739. Turpin was popular with the poor folk because he focused upon robbing the wealthy and they enjoyed seeing the wealthy get their comeuppance.
In reality Turpin was a cruel man who reputedly set people on fire alive, raped and tortured female captives and once even dragged an old woman to death on her own horse. He was a greedy man who cared little whom he robbed, but his death insured that his legend would live on. Supposedly, he approached his gallows with a swagger and a smile. He bowed with courtly charm to the beautiful young women who had come to see him hung. He literally jumped from the ladder which supported him and hung himself. His bravado struck the common people and they quickly stole his body and buried it in quicklime so that it could not be given to the doctors to dissect.
Turpin's spirit has been seen throughout England, particularly along the A1 Highway. Turpin has also been reported along B488 near Woughton-on-the -Green, the A-11, and A-5 between Nuneaton and Hinckley, but he is most often seen near Hounslow Heath where Heathrow International Airport is. Turpon's spirit is as colorful as Turpin was in life. He reportedly wears a jacket with blood red sleeves, a black tri-corn hat, a black cloak and high boots. He rides upon a large black stallion, and has been seen galloping down many a country lane.
At Heathrow, though, Dick is not seen riding madly upon his black steed. Instead he is seen, heard or felt behind people. Employees of the airline, in particular, report feeling as though someone is behind them. They feel hot breath upon their necks and hear a man barking like a dog and howling. The employee then turns quickly and is most startled to find that there is not a living soul behind him.
By all accounts, Dick Turpin enjoyed playing unnerving jokes like this in life and he's still doing so in death. But there are more conventional spirits haunting Heathrow as well.
It is an unfortunate fact that most airports have had their tragic landings. Weather, mechanical failure and human error have taken a toll, and there have been terrible plane crashes in the history of Heathrow International Airport.
In 1948 a DC3 Dakota plane from Belgian Airlines crashed while on approach to Runway 2-8-Right during a terrible, foggy night. It was a horrible accident and no one survived. The British rescue crew worked feverishly to pull the victims from the twisted wreckage but they knew that there was no hope. As the men worked, a gentleman in a hat appeared in the fog and asked the workers if they had found his briefcase in the wreckage. He took the men by surprise and just faded away as they stared at him. According to the workers, they later found the man's body in the wreckage.
Since that terrible night the man has been seen many times along the runway where he died long ago. By most accounts he simply appears out of nowhere and walks along the runway as if searching for his briefcase still. Others say he appears confused or dazed as he wanders along. Could it be that he doesn't quite realize that he's dead and is still trying to complete whatever business deal brought him to England back in 1948?
There is yet another businessman who haunts the airport. This spirit is of a businessman in a gray suit who seems harried and worried. He haunts one of the VIP Lounges in the airport and simply materializes at odd moments. A few people have claimed to see him materialize only from the waist down.
They are obviously disconcerted to see a pair of gray clad legs walking around the lounge. Are they other spirits at Heathrow International Airport? In a place so busy and filled with people hurrying to various destinations it is hard to tell, but these three spirits have been so dedicated to their haunting that they have been noticed amidst the hub-bub. So if you're traveling through Heathrow, keep your eyes open and you, too, might see a spirit passing through or a man in a hurry who just disappears before he can fade into the crowds.

FROM THE FILES OF GOLD RUSH GHOSTS
One of the amazing ghost and spirit encounters we had with our own organization, the one that stands out the biggest and tallest for me, was right after 911 in New York . Robert Reppert, owner and founder of GRG and I landed at Kennedy Airport . There were an amazing amount of confused, hurt, and in shock people mulling around, all live. They were coming to town and leaving town, looking for their lost friends, lovers and relatives that could be caught in the disaster of the Twin Towers . We were able to assess some which had loved ones who had passed away in the disaster, as the entities were following them. Importantly, I have never been in an airport that was not haunted.
HOW TO TELL THE LIVING FROM THE DECEASED
For sake of clarity and type of energy you may encounter, I have divided ghosts from spirits, referring to ghosts as an imprint, and spirit as a decease person. Ghostly imprints are like a video being played over and over. You cannot communicate with a ghost as they are no longer there the essence of when they WERE there is what remains. A SPIRIT on the other hand is a deceased person or animal that is around you and you CAN communicate with them if they feel like it. Here is the run down.
1. Most deceased when you see them do not bend in the wind and their hair and attire does not appear affected by weather conditions. When you encounter them over and over they are wearing the same thing.
2. A GHOST cannot talk to you as they are an imprint, a SPIRIT can be communicated with if they chose to do so.
3. GHOSTS and SPIRITS can appear as clear and you or I, or they can be luminous or see-through depending on the amount of energy that is extended at any given time. You will have more opportunity to experience ghosts and spirits when it is damp.
4. Most SPIRITS statistically that reside in airports appear to want to communicate with you, that is why they stay in a site that has a lot of people.
5. Airport SPIRITS have been known to tell people the weather conditions at the other end of their flight, and if the flight will be safe.
7. Remember, SPIRITS get free flights. I have seen the deceased go onto airplanes but generally these are deceased loved ones not those that have taken up residence at an airport. Of course there are no hard rules here, so this is an assessment from my own experience.
8. GHOSTS look right through you. SPIRITS may make eye contact. Even if there is an eye contact between you and a ghost, it is an imprint not really seeing you, just passing through.
