Pazuzu was an Assyrian and Babylonian demonic god of the first millennium BC. He normally has a dog-like face like here, and where his body is depicted he has a scaly torso, a snake-headed penis, the talons of a bird and usually wings. He is often regarded as an evil underworld demon, but he seems also to have played a beneficent role as a protector against disease-bearing winds (especially the west wind). He was closely associated with the demoness Lamashtu who stole babies from their mother's womb or when newly born. Pazuzu acted to counter her evil: he forced her back to the underworld. Amulets of Pazuzu like this were therefore placed in windows hung inside and out of dwellings, attached to bedroom furniture. Smaller versions were hung around the necks of pregnant women. Crescent Hotel Tour
Walk with us through the legendary Crescent Hotel and hear of it's ghostly legends. The hotel was constructed in 1886 and known as the, "Queen of The Ozarks," to the victorians. In the teens it was a fine girl's school. Intriguing tales woven with history. Hear of legendary haunts and ongoing investigations being conducted by our trained staff. The Lady in the garden, nurses, Michael, Theodora, a few of the legends to whet your appetite. Follow the dark halls below the hotel into the realm of "Dr." Norman Baker and his Cancer Cure Hospital. Many dreams of a cure for cancer were never realized. The long history of the hotel is represented through the ghosts that still inhabit it's halls and walls.
Built in 1886 and a proud member of the prestigious Historic Hotels of America, the Crescent Hotel has been the choice forEureka Springs weddings and a premier Eureka Springs vacation destination for 120 years. Why? Thorncrown Chapel, the Great Passion Play and the Arkansas Ozarks. All unique to the 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa.

I judge my ratings by the Ghost Tour guides ability to capture and hold my attention. I also poll the people in attendance and locals in each city before making a final judgment in awarding the rating I give the actual tour in general.

2 Skulls-Catches your attention but never really keeps it.
3 Skulls- Definitely Worth taking - Check it out. You won't be disappointed
4 Skulls- Great ghost tour - Don't miss it EVER! A perfect blend of history mystery and spooks"Simply The Best Ghost Tour Experience!"
“Ghost Hunters” features Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson with other research members of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) as they investigate supernatural stories throughout the U.S.
Hawes said the team was lured to Eureka Springs by stories someone sent to them about hauntings in the town. Wilson said there are numerous historical elements, such as the Crescent Hotel’s period as a cancer research hospital, that "leave an emotional imprint on this place."
"There are a bunch of different claims here," Hawes explained, such as an entity in the former morgue of the Crescent that didn’t know it was dead and a man in time-period clothing.
Steve Garrison has worked as a cook in the Crescent Hotel kitchen for about 14 years and was interviewed by TAPS. “I’ve lived here all my life,” he said. “I’ve never been one to believe this stuff.” However, he claimed that while slicing and dicing vegetables in the kitchen he once saw a little boy with bottle-pop glasses dressed in very old clothes such as knickers skipping around. “I don’t drink on the job,” Garrison added. “I don’t drink period.” Another experience Garrison has had on more than one occasion was to flip on the lights in the kitchen when he first showed up for work and see some or all of the pots and pans fly off their hooks.
TAPS takes mysterious situations and stories like those at the Crescent Hotel, and tries to recreate them. It doesn’t take ghost tales at face value and doesn’t consider people’s experiences evidence unless TAPS can capture it on audio or video.
"It’s good science," Wilson said.
There are many ghost tours around the world that catch my attention. But there are very few that can compare to the best that Haunted Arkansas has to offer.
I first visited this very haunted hotel when I was only a child of three. And even then I knew it was haunted. The actual ghost were ever so aware of possibly who I was to become when I grew up. My dear mother often spoke of how I was just sitting in the room talking to an unseen entity that followed us from our check in to our departure.
My parents loved this hotel the ambiance as well as the great service and fantastic food. this was their reason to return each year. But mine has always been to visit the ghost friends that I have openly knew since my childhood.
Years had gone by but I never forgot my ghostly friends that live here. I returned again when I was only a child of ten and the same ghosts then came to me and tried to catch up with all that had happened to me. They even commented how beautiful I was since I had grown some. The ghost were never really scary at least to me. but I have always openly talked and communicated with real ghost since I can remember.
My next haunted visit was at the age of 13 for you see my parents loved the hotel and the family trip we would take to visit the lovely grounds. I personally could not wait to see the many ghost that communicated with me there on each previous visit. This particular stay and week long visit seemed to be the most haunted stay I had ever had. At this time I had stared reading many books by Brad Steiger and Hans Holzer and thought I was more knowledgeable about haunting's and why ghost did what they did.
The actual many ghosts chatted with me night and day. they loved the fact that I was reading about hauntings. and I would read aloud to them as they listened and asked what my thoughts were on the subject. I personally got to meet everyone the good and the bad ghosts, and heard their tales of death and why they haunted this particular hotspot. Their stories reflected more insights to why they haunted this particular haunted great majestic hotel.
Each ghost introduced themselves to me in turn and even warned me of a few spooks that I should avoid. They even told me that they the bad ghosts were there listening to our long midnight conversations. But the good ghosts would not let them meet me until I was older. I guess it was because they the good ghosts thought it would keep me from returning if they did.
The famous 1886 Crescent Hotel is where TAPS filmed on location for the SciFi Channel. Also known for the infamous "Dr." Baker performed the hideous tasks related to his experimental cures for cancer in the 1930's. Dr. Baker was actually not a doctor at all, but based on circulated stories, a strange and demented man who tried to cure cancer in ways that are unspeakable.
We returned again in my 16th year. And to my surprise each ghost was waiting in the lobby to greet me. I heard them all call out my name. they actually distracted me to the point that I did not know what was happening until hours latter. it seemed like they pulled me into their world.
I personally have always heard the real voices of ghost just a a living person hears a voice in their ear while on the telephone. to me the voices are very real. And I don't think I am nuts because many others I have met through the years have had similar experiences.
I returned in 1976 with my husband at the time. But that's a good ghost story I will have to save for another time.
Eureka Springs is pleased to be grouped in the elite collection of historic towns recognized by the National Trust as the Dozen Distinctive Destinations.
The 1886 Crescent Hotel is the very haunted jewel in this crown and is so recognized by the quality ranking and membership of Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels of Arkansas.
If there was a National Trust for Haunted Places, some say that the 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa, located here atop Crescent Mountain, should be on the national register.
Here are just a few reasons why:
Ghostly Videos
"Many come to the 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa to play. Some come only to stay with those guests who have been checking out for more than a century but who never left the hotel. These videos are dedicated to them... and you know who you are. "
How can you say ghost exist unless you try to
experience it yourself? If you are not willing
to try, then you have no factual basis for your
conclusion. To put this another way, don't decide
it before you try it. All beliefs come from
a experience. Many believe people for their
word, others not so trusting simply need to
be shown. And still more do not believe what
they see even if it shoved in their face.
