Many years ago I was hypnotized by my grandfather, John, a warlock and wise man. I had this addiction to gummy bears. YES, the great Ms. Macabre had an addiction, and it was gummy fruit bears. John hypnotized me to think that the little juicy, delicious, bears tasted like coffee grounds. To make a long story short, I do not have an addiction to them any longer… Chocolate is my new vice.
I’d like to teach you how to hypnotize your friends and family so that you can help rid them of their annoying little addictions.
Begin by having you and your subject sit in a comfortable position and relax. A chair or couch works quite well. Have your subject sit with their hands at their sides or on their lap. Have them close their eyes and breathe deep for about 30 seconds. Patience is key in hypnosis.
Have your subject clear their mind of all thoughts. The way I like to do this, is to have them climb stairs in a castle. Speak to them and have them visualize that you are walking into a grand stone castle. Keep your voice nice and calm. I like to make my voice a little sing- songy but that takes practice. Observe all the surroundings, take in the scenery, look at objects hanging on the walls, walk down the corridor to the staircase. Tell them about all the things you both see. Explain them in detail, as this will help with the relaxation. Have them walk up a staircase, with you counting steps as they go on. Take your time and visualize everything, point out things to them that might be hanging on the walls as they climb. Go into a room if you like, talk about what you see and explain it to your subject. This step usually takes Ms. Macabre about 5mins to get the person into a relaxed state.
When you feel that your subject is very calm and relaxed, sit there quietly for a moment. Have them breathe deeply again.
Begin to go through the subjects body parts, start at the top of the head and work your way down all the way to the tips of the toes. “Let’s relax the top of your head, focus all your energy on that one area, breathe deep and let go…” Do this with all parts of the body. “As we move to the next spot you will become even more relaxed”.
Once you’ve gone through your subject’s body parts they should feel very relaxed. Gelatinous. They should only be nodding to your questions and suggestions.
Test your subject for hypnosis:
Ask your subject to think only of their right arm. Tell them that their arm is getting very light, it feels like air. It is “so light that it is floating towards the moon”… “You have a string tied around your wrist with a balloon attached to it. The balloon is lifting your arm to the sky”. If your subjects arm begins to “float” up, you might have them in a light state of hypnosis. Begin your session. If your subject does not respond, they need more relaxation. Start over, but with a different scenario... Maybe floating in a boat on a river.
Once your subject is under hypnosis, work on the things that upset them, their weight, smoking, getting a job, etc… Please do not make them do things that will hurt them or others. It’s just not cool with Ms. Macabre. Be respectful of your subject and don’t make them strip for you, unless they want to…
Your subject won’t do anything that they wouldn’t do in the conscious world, so be respectful of them and let them trust you. Trust is key in hypnosis and it can be very beneficial to you and them. Enjoy.
Self-hypnosis happens when a person hypnotises himself or herself, commonly involving the use of autosuggestion. The technique is often used to increase motivation for a diet, quit smoking, or reduce stress. People who practice self-hypnosis sometimes require assistance; some people use devices known as mind machines to assist in the process, while others use hypnotic recordings.
Self-hypnosis is said to be a skill one can improve as time goes by, and can help reduce stage fright, promote relaxation, and enhance physical well-being.[
This hypnosis lesson can also be used to combat insomnia or restlessness on you. Try it when you go to bed, you’ll probably fall asleep before you meet ME at the top of the staircase.
Pleasant dreams, my pretties…
