A terrible Tragedy happened to a young
American family not so long ago and when
it was over they desperately needed something
to bring meaning back into their shattered
lives.
Only a couple weeks before the tragedy
a letter arrived stating the family had
inherited an old castle on a remote island
off the coast of Scotland. At the time
of the reading to even consider moving
there was absurd but now everything was
different and they resolved to go.
Scraping together every last penny they
embarked on a strange journey that took
them even beyond the bonny Highlands and
upon their arrival found Ravensbreath
Castle was all they hoped it would NOT
be and more: dark, desolate and crumbling
into the cold misty sea, but due to countless
reasons the little family stayed.
The family was faced with one challenge
after another and it wasn't long before
they discovered they were not alone in
the castle. Many unseen forces were at
work, the most prevalent being the presence
of a group of ghost children. They learned
that Ravensbreath Castle had been converted
into an orphanage over 400 years earlier
and these were the orphans who had somehow
become trapped in a time warp between
the world of the living and those who
had moved on.

The first orphan the family encountered
was Annabel Lee, a girl about 11 who considered
herself head of the clan of spirit children.
She was not a nice little girl, pushy
and brash and possessing powers that kept
the other children in check and in fear.
The only one safe from the tricks and
bad temper of Annabel was her aloof little
brother Percy.
The little ghost who's been terrorizing
the other children and living residents
of Ravensbreath Castle for over 400 years.
Annabel is approx. 15cm (6 inches) tall
with jointed body. Her hair is raven-hued
hand-dyed Tibetan Lamb's Wool. Her eyes
are brown. She is clothed in a satiny
ivory fabric with puffy sleeves - all
singed of course, over a pale pink tulle
petticoat, also singed.
She wears a choker and a pink gem stone
brooch pinned to her dress.
It was the last gift from her mother.

Learn
how they're made
Now it is my intention to continue to
pen this ghost story as more is revealed
for I find it most intriguing. I also
plan to recreate the ghost orphans in
clay and cloth like I've done with Annabel
Lee and Percy shown on this web site.
I find it's important to pay close attention
to things such as how they look and feel
and to learn all I can about their history.
Percy's near 12cm (5 inch) jointed body
is clothed in a once handsome suit of
royal blue velvet with gold buttons that
are miraculously still intact. Under the
suit he wears a ruffled blouse with ruffled
cuffs - all of which have been singed
and smudged by Annabel, much to Percy's
dismay.
It's a tough life (even when you're dead)
being the brother of Annabel Lee
Percy
and Annabel Lee
Sadly, time is playing
it's last cruel trick on the lost
children for they are deteriorating
swiftly, growing more tattered (even
more so thanks to Annabel Lee's
creepy habit of singeing everyone's
clothes). The children are fading
away into nothingness - which is
symbolized by their crude wire joints
- and apparently unless they find
a way to escape their castle prison
and join those in the hereafter,
the very fact they existed at all
will be extinguished faster than
their last living heartbeat and
breath.

Percy
The Haunted Doll |
Percy, poor Percy. Unfortunately he's
the only one of the children who will
play with Annabel - such as hanging from
the chandelier just for fun??? - and that's
because he's her brother and has to. Though
a timid and quiet boy, Percy can have
his moments if pushed too far, and on
the rare occasion when that happens even
Annabel stands aside.

You
can tell they've been around a few hundred
years thanks to Annabel's
habit of singeing and soiling everyone's
clothes. But more than that is the fact
that the ghost orphans are deteriorating
rather quickly and after 400 years are
nearing their end. They must find a way
out of the prison orphanage and move on
to the next world, otherwise they will
simply vanish into nothingness ~ alas
that is what is happening.
Will someone save the ghost orphans?

of orphans who lived and died over 400

Castle.
Annabel
is a beautiful and intelligent ghost child
but a definite troublemaker to the other
ghost children as well as 'living' inhabitants
of the castle. Learn more about her and
why she looks so tattered.
How
The Ghost Orphans are Made
The
dolls are crudely but securely jointed
to give them a playful limp flexible feel,
but in reality these poor children are
fading away because they're unable to
move on to the next world which is their
hope and dream. The wire joints you see
are a symbol of their deterioration into
nothingness. You can view them in their
Birthday, rather 'Deathday' suits here.
All
ghost orphans is individually handcrafted
from polymer clay and hand painted with
Genesis oil paints.
Annabel
Lee is approx. 15cm (6 inches)
Her
clothes are made from fine fabrics, some
very old and they've been suitably stressed
& singed at least 400 years!
She
come with various accessories such as
spiders or beetles, etc.
Annabel's
hair is raven-hued hand-dyed Tibetan Lamb's
Wool. Her eyes are brown. She is clothed
in a satiny ivory fabric with puffy sleeves
- all singed of course, over a pale pink
tulle petticoat, also singed. She wears
a choker and a pink gem stone brooch pinned
to her dress. It was the last gift from
her mother.
The ghost orphans would like a new home
and family to haunt.
Adopting a ghost orphan will slow down
their deterioration into nothingness until
the day they are set free (if indeed that
happens) where they will pass into the
world beyond, hopefully joining long forgotten
relatives. Meanwhile you could become
the new owner of Annabel Lee, this highly
disturbed ghost child?
Be sure to take a look at her little brother
Percy as well.
