My personal Paranormal Conference, Workshops and Seminar attendance this year was by all means an exciting time that I still have not forgotten. And many of you have voted to tell us and the world your most favorite ones to attend this yea, are listed here.

I myself and many other fans and paranormal groups love to attend these great events. Often that feature many of the paranormal greats in the field today, from Troy Taylor, Mark Nesbitt, Patti Starr, Greg Myers, Patrick Burns and a talented line up of those we love to personally investigate first hand.

And I have sat down and and looked over the list to give you my honest review of what I think about these and I think these are the best the community has to offer. I also pooled several others in the community of paranormal researchers to get their opinions also in compiling a review of the the list so that you out there will certainly plan on attending these great next year for 2009.

A few of these events are still slated to occur so don't hesitate in attending. And if you have never been to a Paranormal Convention before - plan to go to one of these in 2009!

1. Haunted America Conference 2008

Greg Myers, Troy Taylor and Chris "Ogre" McQueen enjoy a free moment at the Haunted America Conference 2008.

In 1997, Taylor launched the Haunted America Conference, regarded as "America's Original Ghost Conference". After a number of years in Alton, Illinois, the conference has returned to its original site at the Lincoln Theater in Decatur. The Haunted America Conference remains the most visited and popular conference by the best paranormal people in the community today. Taylor is now in preparation for his 13th annual event in 2009.

Taylor's Haunted America 2008 Conference to me is the most informative and hands on event to attend. You will meet many people in attendance from well know groups to also learning more about ghost hunting then you could imagine. You can rub elbows with Troy Taylor himself and chat with those in the know about your personal haunted ghost activity and findings.

2. ScareFest 2008

When Patti Starr holds a Conference it is more then well worth the admission fee. The first annual event this year was one of the best paranormal Scifi events of the year. The atmosphere of this event to me makes it the most perfect and electrifying event to attend. ScareFest 2009 should be just as charged. From what I understand she is in the planning as this is written. Patti Starr said as we left the festivities "The Next Scarefest Will Be The Biggest Paranormal Must Attend Event Ever!" I am already starting to save my pennies up for it. I will be there again!

As many said on hand, Patti Starr sure knows how to throw a paranormal party!

6. Tapscon 2008

If you are a fan of TV's Ghost Hunters this is the paranormal event for you! Jason Grant and the Whole Taps family were present in sunny Florida for their first annual even. They are certainly promising an even bigger event for 2009.

The first annual TAPSCON was held at the beautiful Belleview Biltmore Resort Hotel & Spa in Clearwater and was the new annual event unlike Central Florida has ever seen. Features of the event included autograph sessions with celebrities like Linda Blair, of “The Exorcist,” the cast of “Ghost Hunters” from the SciFi Channel, cast members from CBS’s “Survivor” reality game show, as well as numerous other movie and T. V. Stars. The weekend featured lectures on ghosts, demons, psychics and weird creatures, by the world’s leading experts on such topics. I also heard many have already bought a VIP ticket for TAPSCON 09 (yep, that's right, next year!)

9. Ghost Rush 2008

March 28-30, 2008 – Paranormal Investigators and Ghost Enthusiasts from
around the nation in the small town of Volcano, California – and
for one weekend, more than double the population of 105.

Many of those I spoke to said the experience with a small group at a convention makes it more intense and worth the admission a thousand fold!

10. The 7th Annual Mid-South Paranormal Convention

Louisville, Kentucky played host to this paranormal convention . There is no other convention like the Mid-South Paranormal Convention! Many notables were present including the Booth Brothers. 2008 offered an amazing list of guests from the Paranormal Community. A large room of vendors had whatever you are looking from the paranormal to that unique gift.

The Booth Broths who could ask for anything more! Talented and intense and thought provoking. And the many in attendance had a wonderful time especially with the great Patrick Burns in attendance.

The 2008 Mid Atlantic Paranormal Conference was canceled!

This Convention was shaping up to be the best conference ever as well as one of the premier conferences for paranormal researchers ever. The lineup consisted of the biggest names in the paranormal field including Jason and Grant of TAPS and the SciFi Channel hit show Ghost Hunters, John Zaffis the world renowned demonologist, Jeff Belanger the leading paranormal author/enthusiast, Chip Coffey a world renowned psychic/medium who has recently been featured on A & E's "Paranormal State, Patrick Burns from Haunting Evidence, Tiffany Johnson, a gifted and well known psychic medium, and Brendan Skeen the founder of the West Virginia Ghost Hunters and Ghost-Mart.com.

LISA LEE HARP WAUGH Is a American necromancer in the 21st century. She is by what may call a real conduit to the world of the dead. She dressers in ceremonial robes, draws magical circles on the floor and commands spirits from Heaven, Hell and all places in between to appear before her and communicate with the living. As a teenager she studied heavily The Black Arts by Richard Cavendish and The Grand Grimoire, the Malleus Maleficarum and anything she could get her hands on by the great by Eliphas Levi, John Dee and the great beast, Aleister Crowley.

A professional Necromancer and founder of the Sorcerers Guild of greater Houston, Texas. Waugh has been practicing and conducting rituals for many paranormal investigators for over 20 years. Waugh also paints many spiritual and common murals and lives in a small Texas town with her three dogs. She also over the years makes ceremonial candles and is active in ghost hunting in the deep South. Summoning the dead to communicate with the living is a natural daily occurrence for Waugh. "I have been doing this since I was a child." " When I lived in Galveston, Texas about 15 years ago, I was introduced to the ancient rights of ceremonial Necromancy as a ritual by a great shaman called Freebird, and because of him and his diligence to the art, I still practice it until this day." "However, if a spirit has something vital to impart to you, they will call upon you, not vice-versa and no ritual is needed". Waugh labels her self as paranormal investigator, occult researcher, and contemporary Necromancer.

Necromantic practitioners such as Waugh conducts, and entails respect and reverence not only for the spirits of the dead, but for the spirits of Hell, Heaven and all places in between. Waugh has a large home one room she has painted black where she calls the good spirits. Another painted all black where she calls the infernal spirits.

Waugh is often compared today in her facial features and many similar practices as being a modern Dr. John Dee. He of course was one of the most fascinating characters of the Elizabethan period just as Waugh is recognized as such in modern times. The events of Dee's life are filled with science, experiments, astrology and mathematics which he aligned with magic, the supernatural and alchemy! All of which is Waugh's personal passion and driven honest beliefs. These are also stead fast traditions she does and true in practicing openly. A few of her select followers say she is the actual reincarnation of John Dee. Waugh also practices astrology, and is very continuously studying the Black Arts.
