IT IS 3:00 AM AND THE WITCHING HOUR IS HERE NOW UPON US ...BEWARE!
Tis now the very witching time of night, When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out Contagion to this world: now could I drink hot blood, And do such bitter business as the day Would quake to look on. - Shakespeare, Hamlet.
It's so apply called the dark witching hour by some or the "Dead time", "The Demons Hour" or the "Devil's Time".
It is believed to be directly correlated with being exacted as 12 hours latter the time when Jesus Christ died at which is supposedly 3:pm. and at 3:am the total opposite of 3:pm it is when the evil spirits of hell or able to be set free or allowed by God only in these hours to mock the blessed holy trinity and to taunt the living to sin.
BY LISA LEE HARP WAUGH
3 AM to many individuals has certainly become one of the most ambiguous times of the common day. To awaken afraid in the night to only learn they have awoke as the clock has exactly turned to 3:am. People all over the world who keep becoming bothered and frightened by this particular time always try to seek out the real answers to why they keep awakening at this auspicious time each day. Though many answers they find seem to be vague and often misleading.
Thought to be the most evil time through out the generations many today believe through their fears that something has been set upon them and their once normal lives are forever now disturbed and changed.
But is there any real solid dangers, reason or evidence for us to fear this specific time of day?
3:00 AM
At this evil stroke of the clock ticking away in the darkness, as if struck by the gods or devils to raise us from our deep slumbers. A sudden fleeting paralysis of fear overcomes you. A frightful strong jolt awakens you from a dreamless solid sleep. And the feeling of dread that one cannot escape takes hold of your very soul. This strange phenomena repeats itself each night successively for days to come. And in these very unsettling feelings begins to arise. A fear a great worry that something has you under its power and you cannot shake the terror it brings.
I spoke to a Houston Sleep Clinic and this is what I was told:
Some individuals feel and state that when the real haunting's of everyday life are let loose upon us they will come to call upon you always on a frightening time of the dark of night. Everyday pressures build fear of losing a job, health, love issues or money woes.
But usually those that are awaking at 3 AM, or those that have noting significant going on in their lives at the time that could be bothering them. And in the course of awakening at this time over a period of a weeks or more that is when the real horror sets in. ... Many patients in sleep centers mention waking up after 2 or 3 hours of sleep and being wide awake.
Some doctors believe it is actually symptoms of the onset clinical depression, including early waking insomnia. "Waking up between 2 and 3 am every morning" is such a actual classic symptom.
3am is about time people with normal circadian rhythms hit the lowest metabolic/activity rate. Completely out in left field: is something similar to sleep apnea happing, where your heart rate or breathing rate becomes so low your body "panics" and hits the emergency button to wake you, possibly releasing Adrenalin or something, to get you breathing normally again?
And if it is a case of Chronic insomnia you might want to realize that it has been linked to a range of serious medical problems, from loss of concentration to high blood pressure so please seek a doctors care.
VATICAN CITY–In the first papal edict against a time of day since 1560, Pope John Paul II declared the two-and-a-half-hour interval between 3 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. "wholly ungodly." "If a man dares to come home during these demonic hours, he shall be declared anathema," said His Holiness. "Likewise, anyone calling during these hours shall face excommunication." The pope added that in some cases, devout Catholics may receive special dispensation from a priest in a different time zone.
Sometimes in certain parts of the world at different times of the year the haunted or cursed time is 2:AM. Logic dictates that simply this occurs because we have change our clock due to Day light savings time. This is why at times things maybe cited to occur at 2:AM when they are reported when it is really the 3 o’clock hour based on the phase of the sun.
Excerpts from The Significance of 3:AM By Kenneth Deel bring forth many important factors why 3:AM or 3:PM have an effect upon us.
3: PM is of course when it is said Jesus died and his spirits ascended into heaven until the third day. It is said the Blessed Virgin Mary’s Assumption into heaven Occurred at 3:PM as well. Some say 3:PM is when the veil between this world and Heaven is at it thinnest. Same of course to be said in the opposite time of 3:AM and the veil dividing This world and a 'Dark realm'.
+ ‘Black Masses’ (ritual), for example, are notably done at 3:AM, not midnight, so these dark rituals are done at this hour provide a gain of strength to evil.
+ 3 A.M. is also a distance enough from sunset-dusk to mornings dawn. Sun Light, even in small traces of UV and Infrared from the sun can still be see for well over an hour after sunset. But at 3:AM for example, a ‘new moon’ dark sky can leave a full cover of darkness. Darkness is power to demons and evil spirits. And they prefer darkness as light can be unbearable to them. As we learn somewhat on our own, as children, to turn on a light to get rid of 'monsters'. There is some truth in it. Because with lower demons especially, they are easy scared off by ‘positive’ things such as light being switch on from darkness. While Devils on the other hand appear during daylight hours, turn blessed crucifixes up side down on a wall, etc. Beyond merely to disrespect, it is also a show of power as a boasting in “I CAN DO THIS!” or "This has no affect on me", as to weaken the faith of those oppressed by them. Devils also like to make more noise on what are considered Christian Holidays and ‘Holy Days’, such as Good Friday, and Easter. This is just another way for them to show off power, disrespect Christianity, and to distract from the days meaning.
+ Which brings me to what some say goes beyond a symbolic '3', as stated by others, is indeed a mockery of the 'Holy trinity'. However, However 3:AM still is a preferred time because of the above reasons more so.
+ Essentially, Transition often occurs at these hours of 3-4:pm. In this I am referring to when Demons increasing in numbers, moving from infestation to oppression stages, or onto possession's first stage, etc.
So this time set is indeed the most "UNHOLY" time in the day. 3:AM is often a mile marker for these changes as they grow toward a more serious stage of a demonic haunting, say form an 'infestation' to an 'oppression' stage.
In short if you often wake up to see the clock is exactly 3:AM, you might being seeing this as a warning. The number 3 turning up is a Demonic symbol, so we take note on a short list when it occurs. As it can often defiantly be an indication something is manifesting or already has…
The Real Normal and Paranormal Reasons We Fear Waking Up At 3:00 Am
3:00 am the clock says as you glance through the darkness from your pillow.... 3:00 am "IT BLINKS" right on the dot.
You open your heavy lids and fee very uneasy, almost afraid and totally confused as to why you have become totally conscious in the black darkness. You think to yourself for a second that you had no bad dreams. No nightmare monsters stalking you and causing you to awaken from your deep slumber. You squint your eyes and search the thick blackness of the room to make sure all is well. No monsters, devils or intruder breathing in the corner or in the shadows. But over you almost overcoming you is this very real uneasy feeling that something is wrong. You question yourself as the intense feeling overwhelms you. You right it off as just a moment to forget. But in the back of your mind you still wonder.
Your day goes by nothing eventful occurs then that night once again you awaken and the clock blinks 3:00AM. And now a new reality begins to set in. You now wonder why has this happened again to you?
Is something really wrong with you? You go over everything in your mind from the mundane to the serious and nothing logical seems to fit or explain the delirium. You wonder if someone you love or know has suffered, possibly died? You then think is is it an omen of bad luck soon to come. Then begins the search for an answer to your persisting fears One does begin usually by searching for the answers to why they keep awakening at 3:am. They find often in their personal research several vague explanations concerning god wanting you to pray or the occult. You may also happen to find through your web site searches that some believe that the powers of the devil or witches and those that might want to influence you in some shape or form are using this particular set time when you are at your most vulnerable moments to cast black dark spells upon you.
A few devote Christens I have spoken too maintain the fact that they believe God gave the Devil one hour each day to be set free upon the living and raise chaos and show his power over man incarnate. They hold tight to the fact that think you should get out of bed fall to your knees and ask god to protect you, or to pray for the souls in hell of those that you love.
In European folklore the hours between 12 am and 3 am is called the witching hours. For someone other then a person who stood guard over a small town or city during the Dark to Middle Ages to be awake at such time it was believed those who were, were doing the Devil's work or under his sole control. It was in many cases in past thought that when in the morning if you found a loved one dead in their beds then the death must have happened at the witching hour. 3am. Strangely it is also the time of night an enemy or a witch will directly attack you. Full aware and knowing that the powers of the dark forces ebb and flow in their favor. At this specific time to make the evil dark spell they place upon you 10 times more powerful, exacting and surely to hit it's mark. Many occultist, paranormal experts, demonologist, wiccan or voodoo practioners of the deep South will always explain in great significant detail to you that your chance of having a supernatural encounter is more likely between those hours then any other hour of the day. And if by chance you wake with a start repeatedly then it is a sure sign that you are side stepping the evil spell they are trying to cast upon you. Many do not realize that such practices often or done with cycles of the moon. Noted some spells are Black Novenas as the voodoos call them might take 9- 13 days to perfect evil doings. Hence the reason you might awaken consecutively each night at this specific time.
In many voodoo cultures the Lwa's are said to set free the Ghede at this what they refer to as "Between Time" and it usually associated with the hours of 12: Am - 3:am. The mysterious hidden gates of Guinee are rent open and all evil is set free to run havoc on the earth. And as one well established old Voodoo Queen tells it, that you were about to die at the instant you awakened at 3:00 am for in your deep sleep and dreams were invaded by the lost souls or the demons of hell and the lord of souls, Mr. Death himself. And as you slumbered in a restless sleep the evil had you in it's cold tight grasp. And by the powers of the gods you just happened to slip through their fingers by awakening before they could take you.
Love spells done at 3:AM many will tell you have a better then 80% chance of working to the persons casting it's benefit. The logic is that you the sleeping victim is more unaware at this time of your magical workings, and that the spell can and will take immediate effect if done properly at this time then any other. Many believe that if you are under a spell or psychic attack the fact that you awaken at this time and it is is a sure sign that you are being hexed.
Psychic and real blood drinking Vampires are believed to be more active at this point as well as often feeding at specific points each day or every few days. A story told to me by a person who believed they were being attacked each night by the undead, told me of how they would awaken at 3:am with a crick in their neck and a heaviness and feeling of great fear each night. they believed they were the victim of a invisible vampires attack and energy draining bite. This they went on to tel me was a custom or traditionally tale that was associated with many old Tagalong Ghost stories. Philippine Aswang vampires as many might state often attack a victim each night at 3 am until the victim dies. If you can keep the person awake at the evil hour it is so believed you can save them from becoming a vampire themselves. Even in modern Philippine culture, "bangungut", or sudden unexplained death syndrome, has traditionally been attributed to nightmares. People who have claimed to survive such nightmares have reported experiencing the symptoms of sleep paralysis at 3:00am.
The custom of making real Zombies usually holds to the traditions of doing the deed in the midnight to 3:am range. This they believe is the perfect time to raise the dead from their graves because the powers of the Baron Cementer to grant this zombification ritual are at their strongest.
According to Chinese Medicine the hours 1-3am are ruled by the Liver and the hours 3-5am are ruled by the Lungs. It's called the horary cycle and there are points on the body related to these times. The Liver point is just proximal to the lateral corner of the nail. In Chinese Medicine the Liver is responsible for the free flow of energy and emotion - anger and depression are two sides of that coin.
Internal Clocks
Also referred to as a circadian rhythm, internal clock is a term used to explain in full the approximately twenty-four hour cycle that is inherent in most living entities. Along with human beings, plants, other mammals, and other living creatures here on earth or all thought to live by or have an internal clock. A circadian rhythm is a roughly 24-hour cycle in the biochemical, physiological, or behavioral processes of living entities on Earth, including plants, animals, fungi and cyanobacteria (see bacterial circadian rhythms). The term "circadian" comes from the Latin circa, "around", and diem or dies, "day", meaning literally "approximately one day". The formal study of biological temporal rhythms such as daily, tidal, weekly, seasonal, and annual rhythms, is called chronobiology. Although circadian rhythms are endogenous ("built-in", self-sustained), they are adjusted (entrained) to the environment by external cues called zeitgebers, the primary one of which is daylight.
Circadian rhythmicity is present in the sleeping and feeding patterns of animals, including human beings. There are also clear patterns of core body temperature, brain wave activity, hormone production, cell regeneration and other biological activities. In addition, photoperiodism, the physiological reaction of organisms to the length of day or night, is vital to both plants and animals, and the circadian system plays a role in the measurement and interpretation of day length. In some cases many believe that ones internal clock sets it self to awaken you at precisely a certain time such as 3:00 am as a restart time. This many believe is just as electronic video or cable equipment always flashes at 12:00 when unplugged.
Many external factors can also cause a persons internal clock to be modified. For those people who work nights they as they believe often experience a great deal of difficulty initially when it comes to getting enough rest. they might awaken each day at 3:00pm and to them this would be their witching hour.
The most intense internal clock modification involves travel. As an individual moves from one time zone to another, the natural rhythm may be thrown off balance. The result is what is commonly known as jet lag. But when these persons find themselves returning home they often will tell you that this 3:00am phenomena is occurring to them. This a doctor will tell you is a normal situation in which the individual feels somewhat tired and may experience insomnia, or awaken at the wrong times of the day until the body adjusts to the new time zone.
Sleep paralysis is paralysis associated with sleep that may occur in normal subjects or be associated with narcolepsy, cataplexy, and hypnagogic hallucinations. The pathophysiology of this condition is closely related to the normal hypotonia that occur during REM sleep. Several studies have concluded that many or most people experience sleep paralysis at least once or twice in their lives.
THE EVIL WITCHCRAFT OF 3AM
Many still believe a Black Witch performing her dark arts even now in modern times will place her spells upon the unsuspecting at certain powerful magic hours of the day. And certainly the hours of this or from 12 am to 3:am each night. Though the time of the month usually correlates with the phases of the moon. Good spells on person, those for love money are success are usually done on the waxing moon .where as spells to hurt harm or even kill a person or performed on the waning moon.
Those who suffer from this 3:am syndrome often do not correlate the position of the moon they just worry about the hour.
Witchcraft, voodoo hexes dark black spells and rituals to call up demons to do ones bidding or often carried out on certain days of the month. and usually in the hours that occultist refer to as mid -dark.
In traditional magical works of Necromancy, "midnight" refers to solar midnight, which is opposite solar noon. some refer to it as Mid Dark. A time between or exact moment the opposite of full light or mid day.
These form an axis linking the mundane world with other worlds by being the apogee of darkness and the perigee of light. Thus, traditional midnight is associated with chaos, death, underworld and mystery. It was seen as a moment when sacrum manifests itself and epiphanies were most likely. The epiphanies expected were those associated with darkness, so it was thought that at midnight, visitation from spirits, ghosts, demons and devils were common. All the supernatural creatures of darkness — reminiscent of feared nocturnal predators — were believed to haunt the night, their potency greatest at its central point, midnight. According to Slavic folklore, midnight was time when strigas rose from graves to suck the blood of mortals, zmoras assailed the sleeping to steal their breath, and devils came for sinners. Polish Jews believed that it was the time when dybbuks possessed people, causing insanity. As night's attributes are chaos and primordiality, all the acts of summoning from other worlds were easiest to perform at the culmination of the night. Supernatural entities like demons and devils universally answered a human call — be it death wish, curse of famine, prostration or pact with the devil. All the acts of sorcery, witchcraft, necromancy were easiest then. While some beliefs stated that elaborate rituals were needed, some other folklore ascribed unholy power to such simple acts as calling the devil at crossroads at midnight. Even peeking into a mirror at night (without a reliable clock one could never be certain what time it was) was dangerous, as the devil himself could have looked back. Midnight was also the time to gather the ingredients used in magical acts done at other times, so various herbs were thought to be most potent when harvested at midnight. In the modern world, midnight is the symbolic end of the world according to the Doomsday Clock.
But as many know a clock can foretell death ghosts and the rise of demonic forces. Clocks have been known to stop at the time of a persons death. or even waking to a certain time can spell disaster in the future.
In general usage today a "clock" refers to any device for measuring and displaying the time. watches and even sundials and hourglasses all can hold some type of supernatural properties or so many believe. Magical or cursed or haunted watches and other timepieces that can be carried on one's person are often distinguished from haunted or possessed clocks. A possessed watch or one that has been cursed by unseen forces or even haunted by a real ghosts can and do pass from generation to generation. these haunted timepieces often only react to certain individuals and may be laying in wait for the perfect victim to haunt or curse.
I have had individuals bring to me haunted mantel clocks, haunted Rolex wristwatches and ordinary looking alarm clocks that they swear are haunted by the dead or forces of demonic control. All this is often set in motion because they notice strange things occurring at certain times associated with the physical real time piece or mechanical or electrical clock or device that so often rules their lives.
Is it 3 AM and your reading this now!
There are prayers to say if you awaken at 3:am and fear or panic seems to overcome you many will state. An old Texan legend tells that if you awaken at this specific time between 3:am and 3:15 am this means that a dead relative or friend seeks your prayers and forgiveness. Many will say special prayers for those they know have died at this time to set them free of their torment.
Many people report all manner of strange happenings occurring at the Demon's hour of 03:00 A.M., it is also a time that frequently correlates to episodes of 'sleep paralysis' by those that suffer from the condition.
Sleep paralysis is paralysis associated with sleep which may occur in normal subjects or be associated with narcolepsy, cataplexy, and hypnagogic hallucinations. The pathophysiology of this condition is closely related to the normal hypotonia that occur during REM sleep. When considered to be a disease, isolated sleep paralysis is classified as MeSH D020188. Some evidence suggests that it can also, in some cases, be a symptom of migraine.
Physiologically, sleep paralysis is closely related to the paralysis that occurs as a natural part of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, which is known as REM atonia. Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain awakes from a REM state, but the body paralysis persists. This leaves the person fully conscious, but unable to move. The paralysis can last from several seconds to several minutes "after which the individual may experience panic symptoms and the realization that the distorted perceptions were false". As the correlation with REM sleep suggests, the paralysis is not entirely complete; use of EOG traces shows that eye movement can be instigated during such episodes. When there is an absence of narcolepsy, sleep paralysis is referred to as isolated sleep paralysis (ISP). In addition, the paralysis state may be accompanied by terrifying hallucinations (hypnopompic or hypnagogic) and an acute sense of danger. Sleep paralysis is particularly frightening to the individual because of the vividness of such hallucinations. The hallucinatory element to sleep paralysis makes it even more likely that someone will interpret the experience as a dream, since completely fanciful, or dream-like, objects may appear in the room alongside one's normal vision. Some scientists have proposed this condition as an explanation for alien abductions and ghostly encounters. A study by Susan Blackmore and Marcus Cox (the Blackmore-Cox study) of the University of the West of England supports the suggestion that reports of alien abductions are related to sleep paralysis rather than to temporal lobe lability.
Many perceptions associated with sleep paralysis (visceral buzzing, loud sounds, adrenal mental state, presences, and the paralysis itself) also constitute a common phase in the early progression of episodes referred to as out of body experiences. Mental focus varies between the two conditions; paralysis sufferers tend to fixate on reestablishing operation of the body, whereas subjects of out-of-body episodes are more occupied by perceived non-equivalence with the body.
The original definition of sleep paralysis was codified by Dr Johnson in his A Dictionary of the English Language as "nightmare," a term that evolved into our modern definition. Such sleep paralysis was widely considered to be the work of demons and more specifically incubi, which were thought to sit on the chests of sleepers. In Old English the name for these beings was mare or mære (from a proto-Germanic marōn, cf. Old Norse mara), hence comes the mare part in nightmare. The word might be etymologically cognate to Hellenic Marōn (in the Odyssey) and Sanskrit Māra. Folk belief in Newfoundland, South Carolina and Georgia describe the negative figure of the Hag who leaves her physical body at night, and sits on the chest of her victim. The victim usually wakes with a feeling of terror, has difficulty breathing because of a perceived heavy invisible weight on his or her chest, and is unable to move i.e., experiences sleep paralysis. This nightmare experience is described as being "hag-ridden" in the Gullah lore. The "Old Hag" was a nightmare spirit in British and also Anglophone North American folklore. In Nigeria, "ISP appears to be far more common and recurrent among people of African descent than among whites or Nigerian Africans", and is often referred to within African communities as "the Devil on your back."Various forms of magic and spiritual possession were also advanced as causes. In nineteenth century Europe, the vagaries of diet were thought to be responsible. For example, in Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol, Ebenezer Scrooge attributes the ghost he sees to "... an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of an underdone potato..." In a similar vein, the Household Cyclopedia (1881) offers the following advice about nightmares: "Great attention is to be paid to regularity and choice of diet. Intemperance of every kind is hurtful, but nothing is more productive of this disease than drinking bad wine. Of eatables those which are most prejudicial are all fat and greasy meats and pastry... Moderate exercise contributes in a superior degree to promote the digestion of food and prevent flatulence; those, however, who are necessarily confined to a sedentary occupation, should particularly avoid applying themselves to study or bodily labor immediately after eating... Going to bed before the usual hour is a frequent cause of night-mare, as it either occasions the patient to sleep too long or to lie long awake in the night. Passing a whole night or part of a night without rest likewise gives birth to the disease, as it occasions the patient, on the succeeding night, to sleep too soundly. Indulging in sleep too late in the morning, is an almost certain method to bring on the paroxysm, and the more frequently it returns, the greater strength it acquires; the propensity to sleep at this time is almost irresistible.
A REAL PRAYER TO SAY IF YOU AWAKEN AT 3:AM
God Protect me from the evil of this unholy hour. with the intercession Mathew Mark Luke and John bless this bed that I lay upon.
Deliver from this evil grip that holds my soul in turmoil through out my waking and sleeping hours.
Protect me oh Lord from the seen and unseen world that attacks me.
Oh holy Lord my God in your hands I seek protections from the demons of the night.
Amen
Butch DeFeo (Ronald "Butch" DeFeo, Jr., ) of the supposedly true ‘Amityville horror’ reportedly killed all of his family at 3:AM to 3:15.
In old New Orleans 3:AM is a time to pray for those that died tragically or suddenly and unexpected. It is thought that those that suffer in the deepest of despair can only effect the living at this time and awaken you to pray for them and their deliverance from hell or purgatory that they are stuck in.
Ghost are often thought to prowl the cemeteries of Canal Street at this time of the morning. Many reported as 100% real ghost sightings occur in the Crescent City at this time.
3:00 AM was also singled out as a time of importance within another supposedly real fact based horror movie ‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose’.
One of the earliest known uses of the exact phrasing "the witching hour" is from the 1831 edition of Frankenstein in the introduction by Mary Shelley: "Night waned upon this talk, and even the witching hour had gone by before we retired to rest." In 1835, the phrase appeared in the last line of a short story by Washington Irving:
"Two pairs of eyes are watching me now, from the couch and the ledge by the window. Faerieland shines in those eyes. And I must leave you, for it's the witching hour and a full moon is rising. . . ." However, variants of the phrase were in use much earlier; Shakespeare refers to "the witching time of night" in a soliloquy in Hamlet: Tis now the very witching time of night, When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out Contagion to this world: now could I drink hot blood, And do such bitter business as the day Would quake to look on. [Act III, sc. ii]
