Paranormal Activity' the highly anticipated movie deemed as this generation's The Exorcist. "scary as hell." "the scariest movie of the year." After a young, middle class couple moves into what seems like a typical suburban 'starter' tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to.
An anecdotal approach to the paranormal involves the collection of often told tales and strange haunted supposed real ghost stories told about the paranormal. Such collections, lacking the rigour of empirical evidence, are not amenable to be subjected to scientific investigation.
The anecdotal approach is not a scientific approach to the paranormal because it leaves verification dependent on the credibility of the party presenting the evidence. such as what happens in this frightening move.
It is also subject to such logical fallacies as cognitive bias, inductive reasoning, lack of falsifiability, and other fallacies that may prevent the anecdote from having meaningful information to impart. Nevertheless, it is a common approach to paranormal phenomena. In basic terms it could happen and you don't want it to happen to you. But inany case it's put out there for people to believe it or not. But such as this and other frightening movies it effects emotionally wheither we see it or not.
People were literally screaming and covering their eyes in the audience. I witnessed grown men crying terrified as the left the theater. I'd totally recommend this for anyone who wants a good theater going experience because it just heightened the tension. Very simple simple plot, but the way the filmmakers build up the tension is priceless. It kept everyone on the edge of their seat.
But those of us in the field of actual paranormal research have seen all this before. that is if we have gone the distance and not stopped our pursuits as the paranormal activity we explored becomes this intense.
I highly recommend this movie to all would be paranormal investigators and the well salted ones. Things that were portrayed in this film actually do occur and effect the haunted in this manner. though many people who think they know it all tend to poo poo the claims of those that say they experienced it first hand, and hopefully this paranormal movie it will shake the system that some ghost hunters think cannot happen.

When one sets out to research ghosts and other forms of poltergeist and paranormal activity. We do not realize that our interactions is a form of communication. To often the unknowing step into a world where they can never be certain of what is real and what is truly imagined.
Just as the relase of Blair Witch and the greatest horror movie of all times the Exorcist "Paranormal Activity" the Movie is having an emotional effect on all those that wittnes it's frightening story.
Real ghost and paranormal demonic forces seem to love drama. And so do those that explore the real haunted house and places of the dead. Cemeteries bring out great emotions for some and others might just try to ignore the clues they see subliminally and not let it get to them. In watching this new great horr fest many are being effected and possibly exploring things in their own personal lives that un-nervingly haunt them.
Maybe you're worried that you are your partner is having a real paranormal affair. they might be hiding the haunting from you and dismissing it as just bumps in the night. Some ghost hunters brush them off as a harmless friendship with a dead person. Those who might otherwise be interesting sexually. And certainly that is if they weren't dead.

If binaural tones were used, it might explain why this movie was so frightening. One could possibly self-hypnotize himself into believe he was more scared than he actually was. Or the tones could produce a increase of heart rate, making a scene scarier than it was.

An eerie image of a figure in period costume at a Scottish castle has spooked experts conducting the biggest ever investigation into photographic evidence for ghosts. The picture, taken in May 2008, appears to show a man or woman in a ruff peering out of a barred window at Tantallon Castle.
Tantallon Castle, a ruined fortress dating back to the 14th century, stands on a remote rocky headland near North Berwick on the Scottish east coast. It was badly damaged in an attack by Oliver Cromwell’s forces in 1651.
Christopher Aitchison, who took the photo, said: “I was not aware of anyone, or anything, being present in my picture, only noticing the anomaly when I got home.
“Staff have verified that there were no sinister dummies in period costume or historical re-enactments going on that day at the castle. I did not notice any nice old ladies wearing ruffs walking around the stairs! Some people have suggested its just light reflecting on rocks and one person suggested it may be King James V of Scotland.”
Psychologist Prof Wiseman, from the University of Hertfordshire, who has made many studies of the supernatural, launched the investigation a month ago.
Members of the public were asked to submit ghostly images for experts to analyse, the best of which were posted on the website www.scienceofhauntings.com.
More than 250 pictures were received from all over the world and more than a quarter of a million people voted for what they considered to be the most convincing photos.
