Over
the years since
the battle,
stories of scores
of sightings,
stranger than
reality, have
emerged from
the quaint houses
and gentle fields
in and around
the town of
Gettysburg:
Stories of sightings
of these soldiers,
moving again
in battle lines,
across the fields
where they once
marched. . .
and died; tales
of visions through
a rip in time
into the horrible
scene of a Civil
War hospital;
whispers of
a look at men
long dead held
eternally captive
by duty. These
apparitions
-and more- come
back to remind
us, in one way
or another that
they are not
to be forgotten
for what they
did here. .
.
In
research for
his books, Mark
Nesbitt collected
hundreds of
these tales
of the unexplainable
sightings, entity
activity or
those strange
echoes from
a time long
gone that can
mean only one
thing: Gettysburg
may very well
be, acre for
acre, the most
haunted place
in America.
Now,
armed with tales
from these ghost
books - and
with a few that
aren't in the
books - knowledgeable
guides will
take you on
your choice
of several evening
tours through
sections of
town that were
bloody battlefields
13 decades ago;
through night-darkened
streets to houses
and buildings
where it's not
as quiet as
it should be;
to sites on
the old Pennsylvania
College campus
where the slain
once lay in
rows, and the
wounded suffered
horribly, waiting
to become corpses
themselves;
to cemeteries
where the dead
lie. . . sometimes
not so peacefully.

QUESTIONS WITH DASH
BEARDSLEY
Behind the hair and
sunglasses, there
lies a brilliant mind.
A mind that with a
ton of creativity,
sheer force of will,
and a little bit of
luck, created Galveston's
very first haunted
walk of the Strand.
Always intrigued by
the mysterious, Dash
relentlessly researched
Galveston's history,
delving deep into
its past, uncovering
many secrets along
the way. On his tours,
Dash shares his love
of Galveston and of
course his fascination
with the myriad spirits
that roam among the
living on this very
haunted island. Dash
is a true steward
of Galveston's past,
and loves nothing
more than entertaining
a crowd while giving
them a glimpse into
a side of Galveston
that for decades remained
hidden. So, on a dark
and stormy night,
if ever you see a
tall, shadowy figure

ebony, walking with
purposeful intent
along the Strand,

crossed paths with

where those
accused
of witchcraft
were incarcerated.
We’ll
also go
by the house
where the
mysterious
“woman

has made
appearances
for decades.
And if time
allows,
we’ll
stop by
a notorious
murder site
from the
1830’s.
We cannot

of them
are closed

The only
guarantee
we can give
you is that
all of the
places we
visit on
this tour
are still
haunted
and they
continue
to have
a lot of
paranormal
activity!!!
Part of
this tour
includes
the origin
of vampire
folklore
and legends,
the historical

Ghost
Tours of St. Augustine

Ghost
Tours of St. Augustine
was developed in
1994 by Sandy Craig,
a native resident
of St. Augustine.
Sandy's heritage
roots go back 400
years in St. Augustine,
to the first Spanish
settlers who arrived
in this ancient
city. She is of
Minorcan descent,
a cultural group
of people migrated
from Minorca, Spain
who still inhabit
St. Augustine. Maybe
this explains her
interest with the
old spirits of St.
Augustine. She's
been know to say,
"When I pass
away, I want to
stay here like everyone
else and have people
tell fascinating
stories about why
I just can't leave
this wonderful city."
"A
Ghostly Experience"
walking tour had
its beginnings in
1994 when Sandy,
owner of Tour Saint
Augustine, Inc.,
decided school groups
staying overnight
needed a fun, educational
activity in the
evenings. She met
with local writer
and historican Karen
Harvey and developed
a tour based on
legends of ghosts
and other strange
experiences that
occurred right here
in St. Augustine.
She guided groups
of school children
along narrow brick
lined streets at
night searching
for the supernatural.
As you can imagine,
"A Ghostly
Experience"
was a huge success,
and due to popular
demand, the tour
was expanded to
include the public.

Ghost
Tours of St. Augustine
now employs over
20 professional
storytellers, and
continues to add
more and more ghostly
tales to the tour.
All of our stories
are researched through
records from historical
libraries, church
documents, personal
diaries and personal
interview. Nothing
is made up, and
no artificial special
effects are used
during the tour.
If you see something
while out there,
you'll know it's
real!
This
award winning tour,
recently voted #1
Guided Tour in Florida
by the readers of
Florida Living Magazine
and is featured
on the Discovery
and Travel Channels,
is held every night
of the year, including
all holidays, and
we also have other
seasonal and private
tours available.
"A Ghostly
Experience"
is now available
in book, CD, cassette
tape, and our newly
released video tape.
All of these can

Put
a Little Fright in
your Night!
This spirited and
spooky ghost tour
will take you to the
haunting grounds of
Bugsy Siegel, Liberace,
Redd Foxx and Elvis.
Robert Allen, creator
of Haunted Vegas Tours
now makes it possible
to visit such eerie
sites by offering
a guided Tour and
Show, featuring Sin
City's Darkest Ghostly
Secrets.
According
to Allen, who consulted
with Tim Cridland,
a paranormal historian
and Janice Oberding,
author of the book
"Haunted Nevada,"
there are more than
21 places where paranormal
activity has been
documented in Las
Vegas.
The
tour covers such sites
as the "Motel
of Death," where
numerous celebrity
deaths have occurred
and the former home
of a Las Vegas legend
where his ghost continues
to haunt despite numerous
attempts to exorcise
it.
Includes
admission to the hit
show "Haunted
Vegas" at the
Greek Isles Hotel
& Casino.
Producer
Robert Allen is proud
to bring the show
"Haunted Vegas"
to the Las Vegas Strip.
Hailed as Las Vegas'
only Late Night Paranormal
Show. "Haunted
Vegas" is the
brainchild of Allen
who has had the concept
for over 7 years.
Inspired by séances,
haunted houses and
ghost movies.
"Haunted
Vegas" features
the unusual talents
of "Zamora"
of Ripley’s
TV fame and the very
funny Jac Hayden who
coincidentally is
also a licensed mortician.
If you are looking
for something different
the "Haunted
Vegas Show" offers
a supernatural alternative
to the neon side of

Ghosts
- Ghost Tours
An
offshoot of ghost
hunting is the commercial
ghost tour conducted
by a local guide or
tour operator who
is often a member
of a local ghost hunting
or paranormal investigation
group. Since both
tour operator and
'haunted' site owners
share profits of such
enterprises (admissions
typically range between
$50 and $100 per person),
some believe the 'haunted'
claims are exaggerated
or fabricated in order
to increase attendance.
The city of Savannah,
GA is thought to be
the #1 US city for
"Ghost Tour Wars"
by having more than
three dozen individual
tours at last count.
A
ghost tour (also called
a haunted tour, ghost
walk, or haunted walk)
is an activity themed
around the paranormal
providing an entertaining
and often educational
way to present ghostlore.
Tours often take place
around sites with
a reputation for unusual
occurrences. They
are usually conducted
at night and will
combine a mix of history
and legends.
Tours
themes around the
paranormal can introduce
historic, social
and scientific topics
to a wider audience
than might not otherwise
be addressed. Stories
centered on ghosts
and mysteries are
more attractive
to many people to
whom leisure time
is precious, than
purely academic
pursuits. A well
presented thematic
tour can create
the interest for
further investigation
into the stories
behind the topics.
Presentations
use drama, humour
and analogies to
weave stories in
an interesting way.
Tours may be conducted
on foot, vehicle
or even a self led
tour finding clues
along a predetermined
route.
Increased
popularity of tours
has led to the formation
of several professional
bodies aimed at
promoting ghost
tours and improving
the experience and
security of customers.

Haunted
locations are often
regarded to contain
the spirits of deceased
beings who may have
been former residents
or were familiar with
the property. Supernatural
Activity inside homes
is said to be mainly
associated with violent
or tragic events in
the buildings past
such as murder, accidental
death, or suicide
— sometimes
in the recent or ancient
past. Amongst many
cultures and religions
it is believed that
the essence of a being
such as the 'soul'
continue to exist.
Some philosophical
and religious views
argue that the 'spirts'
of those who have
died have not 'passed
over' and are trapped
inside the property
where their memories
and energy is strong.
Entities which are
said to 'haunt' homes
are often known to
make noises, appear
as apparitions, and
shift or launch physical
objects. This is sometimes
manifested into 'poltergeist
activity'; poltergeist
meaning 'noisy spirit'.
Traditionally an exorcism
is the method used
to remove unwelcome
spirits from the property.

Fake

these photos will

Most of the best rmarkable
ghost photos like
the Brown Lady photo
below were taken while
not on a ghost hunt.
Ghost
Photography
Well
into the 21st century,
spirit photography
will have many high-profile
supporters--including
the physicist Sir
William Crookes and
the creator of Sherlock
Holmes, Sir Arthur
Conan Doyle, Dale
Kaczmarek, and Haunted
America Tours own
resident Ghost
Hunter Gina Lanier.
The
Mumler photographs
sparked controversy
and a strange career
for Mumler as he took
his “talent”
and began taking portraits
of people who, later
on, saw the images
of dead relatives
next to them. Though
his photographs were
never proven to be
false or genuine,
Mumler started a public
fascination with the
spiritual world that
has lived on today.

Today
many web sites display
ghost photos real
and unreal... We at
Haunted America Tours
only ask that you
be the judge of what
you believe is fact
or fiction.
Mumler
created a notorious
series of "spirit
photographs"
that stunned an era.
Thus the first known
ghost photos were
also the first fakes.

Ghost
- Study And Research
Participant-observation
is a straightforward
technique. It suggest
that by immersing
one self in the subject
being studied, a researcher
is presumed to gain
understanding of the
subject. In paranormal
research, a participant-observer
study might consist
of a researcher visiting
a place where alleged
paranormal activity
is said to occur and
recording observations
while there. Participation
levels may vary. In
studying a supposedly
haunted location,
for example, the researcher
may conduct a séance
or participate in
other activities said
to cause paranormal
activity. At which
time many photographs
are being taken not
knowing if a ghostly
image or spirit is
being captured on
film. the only way
of finding out is
by reviewing the material
to see what strange
anomalies have been
captured during the
investigation.
One
significant modern
example of a paranormal
phenomenon is electromagnetic
fields (EMF). At one
time EMF was debatable
from a scientific
perspective but later
was proven to be real
and is currently accepted
by scientific and
medical communities.
Some investigative
teams use these spikes
in their meters as
a sign to snap a ghost
picture.

Theaters - Probably
the most popular place

it's unlikely that
all these theaters
were really the sites
of murders, or are
really haunted.
